Gen V is the perfect example of exactly how spin-offs should be handled, the new series extends and enriches the world that is so well shaped in The Boys.
a bloodfest as should be expected from the Boys. unfortunately, this first episode of Gen V suffers quite a bit from "millennial writing".
Despite that, I'd like to highlight that none of the topics touched by the author are "SJW" stuff. Mostly it's social issues that were present in the main series and in many other tv serieses. What I critique with the term millennial writing is the way dialogues are written, especially for the protagonist.
Wow. That was much better than expected. The first scene was so tragic and terrible. The “monster” type of thing is a little overdone, but it was really impactful. The other scene when she saved the girl was also really good. The students aren’t also as evil as I thought they would be. Even the Golden Boy had human in him. The ending was also very intense, and I was genuinely worried what would happen at that point. The entire death scene and chase was genuinely super intense, maybe even more than most scenes in The Boys. I’m very excited to see where this goes next.
Can be almost as good as the og series
im going to be honest that scene where she turned tiny made me want to do that to my boyfriend too but sadly i am an average sized person. thats just how life goes
You know you're in the world of 'The Boys' when you've got a character going tiny to jerk someone off and you get closeups of a bellend and balls. Art at its finest really.
What a hell of a start. Had no idea where it was going and expected a teen drama cliche at every turn. Was very happy I was wrong
Never really a fan of a university setting (specially North American ones, the clichés may start pouring in at anytime), but that blood controlling power is dope af and it's what I'm here for.
Ignoring the moronic PewDiePie slander, this was a good episode. Will the series be as good as The Boys? Too soon to say, though I doubt it, it's certainly promising, and I'm very happy to have another window into this world. 7.5/10
Sooo, in my opinión this is just a brutal superheroes show. The boys used to Make fun of this kind of Genre, but in my opinion they have now become it. But we’ll see what the next episodes bring.
Still a good show

So cool, life after Sabrina!
Yeah, pre-gamed a bit, so.... F*ck, I never try to be objective, my rating's are just a reminder of where I was emotionally. And, in this case what's goin' on is inextricably tied to where I've been before (Loved Roz & Ambrose in Sabrina -- love that American accent).
F*ckin' digin' it! (but, totally understand the 6-point-something rating).
"Super" fun Vought going gas-lit woke.
Emma's another poster-child of People who need to get off social-media.
Great opening episode, fun to be in the same universe as The Boys whilst not having to rely on the original to be good. Interesting to use a male and female actor for Jordan Li, makes it easier for me to understand non-binary (as I want to be more informed).
Probably one straight person in this :skull:. But then again, The Boys always shows the worst of society. :skull::skull:
A great start to the season. Reminds me so much of " The Boys" :thumbsup_tone1:, they even mentioned Homelander :see_no_evil:
Gore is getting real repetitive. The weakest actor is gone, so maybe it will amount to something in the end.
I'm so glad that there is finally a series out there that shows us young adults in school, with all their terrible problems and the hard choices they have to make. Can you believe that a woman who needs a knife to cut her wrists so that she can use her blood as a knife has to fight to become a A-grade-superhero celebrity? Well, here is her story.
I have no doubt that the creators of the original IP are sitting at home and wonder: Why didn't I think of this? Why did I make the one true success story with superheroes since End Game by doing something different if I could have just used archetypes involved in story lines that feel like meme formats at this point and create something entirely forgettable?
I wonder if someone is going to fall in love?! Or maybe even have to potential boyfriens, like, in a triangle?! And will we ever see anybody doing actual, you know, school stuff, like reading? Can't wait!
the way the show makes fun of corporations just rubs me the wrong way, i like that, but it feels so devious, like amazon is in on the joke and shameless about how fake they are
they probably don't care but still.
Damn, female Jordan is hot...
It's weird. I'm fine with blood and gore, but all the cutting palms and blood control stuff made me squeamish. This will be a rough 7 more episodes lol.
What a very strong start for the series. This is what The New Mutants (the failed X-Men spinoff) should've been.
Enough world-building that it feels in the same world as The Boys, enough The Boys bloody mess and infallible supes where anyone can die at anytime, while at the same time having its own unique touch with its high-school/university kids drama and a kickstart to some twisted mystery that made the supes as crazy as they are since a young age. Every character is established really well and efficiently. Looking forward to the next episode.
I didn’t like the boys really but this show looks really good, i like the focus on good main characters
I'll watch this at work during break I said
If there's anything NSFW I'll just dim the screen and hunch over my phone I said
Gen V Episode 1 33 minutes 22 seconds: Challenge Accepted :smiling_imp:
Well... That's quite the fucked up shit we have here! Kinda why we like this fucking show I guess! Marie... man.. What a weird power! No way she still alive and didn't kill herself like the late Golden boy! Proof that this show is indeed fucked up! Anyway... Let's try and see the rest of it, cause I'm fucked up too haha....
That sex scene was epic!
Hilarious
That was one hell of a period..
Period!
ppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp-PATTY SCHWARTZ. PARTY TIME. IT'S PATTY SCHWARTZ PARTY TIME!!
PATTY SCHWARTZ. PARTY TIME. IT'S PATTY SCHWARTZ PARTY TIME. WITH PATTY SCHWARTZ. IT'S PARTY TIME!!!!
If you do not like "the boys" then do not post a review. This is awesome on the same level. Im not sure if it will respect the script but the pilot was really good. We need more explosive heads though.
A good first episode. Definitely not what I was expecting. Got to see how the rest of the season goes.

Really enjoyed the first episode. Didn’t take long to get invested in the characters. Kinda pissed Golden Boy died though, he was an interesting character.
