The one with the good start to a good show. They were still finding their footing as most sitcoms do in their first season. Advice for anyone on the fence about the show, if you watch season 1 and don't like it, don't bother with the rest as it only gets marginally better over time. The show gets finetuned rather than improved into further seasons and that's prevalent in the writing even as early as episode two. It quickly becomes apparent why this is one of the most 'played in the background' shows of all time.

I can kinda see why this show is so popular, but maybe this is just a first season and the formula hasn't been perfected yet?

Good slapstick, sometimes like a play, Joey consistently funniest.

I hated it at first and only started to enjoy it halfway through, some scenes are hilarious but I don't like the crude jokes in which the show abounds. The friends themselves as characters are quite likeable, though. I continued watching because of the show's wide use in teaching English, it seems that every topic from everyday life is covered in "Friends," so knowing the show would enable me to introduce more content into my lessons, and because of the show's cult status as "the best tv show." Now that I started liking the characters I guess I would continue watching other seasons.
