cliché, patriotic, self-indulgent mediocraty. i really hope the next two episodes can raise the bar bc i they can't i'll definitely drop this series.
Wow! I was going to give this episode a 9, but that ending easily pushed it to a 10+. I can only hope that the rest of the series is as exciting.
Really amazing start to this show. The CGI of the moon is amazing and also the look of the show is very on point. I also like how they told the story and used snippets of real history.
Apollo 11 crashes, but then gets back at the end of the episode... Where is the risk? There are no stakes. What would happen if NASA absolutely failed? That should be the question explored here. I'm disappointed because the pilot poses an interesting question, but doesn't follow through.
Any scene with Joel was enjoyable, but all others seem dull. Also, the entire Mexican immigration storyline is very WTF and just doesn't fit. Hopefully, the show becomes less shitty.
Decent pilot. The episode takes its time to introduce the characters and possible tension. It pays off in the last half of the episode - the landing sequences is quite tense - however I think the episode could've asked a better alternative history if the landing actually fails. Still wonder where they will take us from here though.
As someone who was deeply into Chernobyl, this helps to fill the gritty realistic show shaped hole in my heart. I was hooked as soon as those Corvettes came sliding across the screen.
This episode started off rather slow and all over the place (in my opinion), although it slowly regained its feet and started to make sense to me. A gripe I had though, is that the show is supposed to "explore what would have happened if the global space race had never ended"; however, Apollo 11 crashes and has hours of radio silence, leading everyone to think they're dead etc. in the first episode... so that's changing what happened at the start of the space race, instead of exploring what happens if it never ended. That certainly disappointed me as someone who loves space and the space race. With that said, I do look forward to seeing what the next episodes have in store as I certainly am unable to predict what they might do next.
Good first episode. I'll continue watching.
This was a good first episode, with the exception of the ADR being very noticeable and out of place in several scenes.
Really great premise... wondering if episode 2 will live up to the expectations or if it will fall through.
