Ready for D89 and the downfall of der DDR
Interesting series of spies in the eighties. The second season, after replacing Sundance TV with Amazon Prime as a production company, is more and action tv show, with less focus on the generational portrait of a Germany broken by political division. In this sense, "Deutschland 86" has less historical depth than "Deutschland 83".
I really enjoyed this season but it is nowhere near as good as D83.
Wasn't expecting the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Rock of Ages to play such a promient role here. Love it!

a great series finale for setting up a third and final season (only my assumption, since it would make sense: 83 - 86 - 89).
Very good performances by Sylvester Groth and Fritzi Haberland this season. Anke Engelke was also very entertaining but her character remained too two-dimensional.
