[8.0/10] Another big fun farce for the show. This one’s a little more focused on the grown-ups, which is nice as a change of pace.
I love the idea that Mary inadvertently cursed her crabby old aunt to death. We all have that one battle axe of a relative, and there’s the combined catharsis of Mary telling hers off and shock when the old bat does, in fact, keel over. At the same time, there’s a lot of fun to be had from Aunt Sarah wearing inappropriate dresses at multiple events, Granda accidentally getting high and being friendly for once, and Gerry finding himself in his element when impressed into service at the kitchen of a wake.
The girls (and James) are a lot of fun here too. The back and forth between Michelle and Clare over drugs is amusing and relatable if you lived through anti-drug programs as a kid. James trying to apply his knowledge from Goodfellas is amusing. And Erin attributing their attempts to flush down the “funny scones” as having “the scoots” is funnier than it should be.
Hell, even Sister Michael gets in on the act, with an amusing interlude of having to listen to long-winded Colm. All of the various stories bump into one another in entertaining ways, and the dialogue captures the humor, atmosphere, and general chaos at family events. (Plus who knew that “Rock the Boat” was such a big deal?)

Overall, another knee-slapper from wire to wire!
