Disregard the rating. Has been there for months before the show was on air.
With a solid start and an interesting story. If you like crime drama, give this one a shot.
A truly captivating crime tv show. Amazing casts and storyline. Really recommended.
This is a refreshingly twisted heist within a heist. An adventure, with a great mix of faces and places and a good level of tension all the way. There are a couple of patchy moments, but this is still a fine production that's well worth watching.
I tried to like it, and I did up until I didn't. It got too long and too confusing with all the different time jumps. I give it to them for trying something different though. I'd say the action sequences kept me intrigued more than anything.
I just love being surprised when I don't expect it. To work through and present what is basically a simple plot in such a way that this story, like a thousand others before it, doesn't feel like you already know how it's going to end after two episodes. Instead, there are so many unpredictable moments and a narrative style with basically no loss of suspense until the end, all garnished with excellent actors, beautiful images and a great soundtrack - in my opinion absolutely top league and I wish there were more of it!
I didn't expect this to be that good. yes it had some completely stupid moments but in general it was cavtitating crime show.

This is not the story of a successful heist, an attempted but failed heist, or how the participants to that heist got caught... this is a successful heist, but that is where the story begins... and they have attempted a crime drama with that as the beginning...
Imagine Ocean's 11/12/13, the heist being the start, everyone getting their cut, and disappearing... only to discover in a few years to learn that they are getting popped one by one... and they don't realise who is doing it or for what... is it the one they stole from, or is one of them trying to get a bigger cut... if you buy into that very unrealistic premise, you might still find this thrilling, and dare I say compelling...
I normally don't like non-linear story telling... but the time jump transitions have been executed neatly... the production quotient on this one is pretty slick... the actors do a great job for the most part... with the exception of Eddie Izzard, who despite his hamming seems a tad underwhelming... some might mind that the lead is a black gay guy, and invoke the woke trope currently in fad... but that is one part that is neither overdone nor serves the story badly... that lead could have been any colour, any gender and have any orientation, and still done the same things... so that bit doesn't irritate me personally...
Overall it is a decent watch, if you don't think too much about the progress of the story and don't go about hunting for plot-holes... the pace is decent, but could have been tighter... and could have ended sooner... 8 episodes seems a bit of a stretch sometimes...
