A few silly mistakes away from being a perfect pilot episode -- the big one, of course, being the failure to inform OtherHoward of the flowers given to the nurses, despite something like 185 chances to mention it.
Of course he didn't share that one and only vital information which made an obvious difference...

I saw the flower thing coming from so far away. I wish they would have done some sort of twist and have a more unexpected mistake get noticed. Really frustrated me.

Well, what a pleasant surprise! This one is shaping up to be a great espionage show with a nice sci-fi twist. It's different, but it reminds me of Fringe, in a way. This one seems to be more focused on the espionage side of things, at least from what this excellent pilot episode showed me.
The suspense of the stakeout and the pacing of its consequent pursuit was spot-on and had me glued to the screen.
Counterpart is definitely a show whose episodes I'll want to carry on watching each week. And you can't go wrong with J.K. Simmons.
