Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with no super powers. Bang bang, fight fight, kiss kiss.
had an opportunity here to make this great but boy, they fucked it up...bad unrealistic casting, too much bullshit romance, just not up toa top espionage show. What a shame .....it's no James Bond as they said it would be...y
Bad mix of the worst spy movies scenarios. Actors not ggood at all, no interest
What a piece of shit. Maybe the two worst actors I've seen in a long time. Very very poor. I'm out
Check your brain at the door. This one is dumb fluff.
SIdney Bristow has done this when Priyanka was watching TV in black&white.
What a name?! Citadel! nothing you haven't seen , no creativity, i mean you knew the lines and next scene before it happens.
A secret society that two love birds will probably take down, how new and refreshing! Acting is average. Production looks high end. No worth it
Citadel feels like it was written by someone who watched Archer and thought it was realistic.
First episode was looking promising, but it goes down very quickly. The visual and style is really great, but as story and script it is failure for me.
The writing is so, so bad. And the visuals aren't nearly interesting enough to make up for it.
Priyanka Chopra is gorgeous, though. So I guess there's that?
Russo Brothers' expensive mistake which reaches new levels of ordinary
Citadel is an expensive & exorbitant mess made out of 1600 crores with which they could have revived countries out of poverty. This stylized, fancy espionage spy thriller is no better than hundreds of spy thriller we have seen in the past. Starting from patchy vfx, forced drama , unegaging characters and mediocre plot twists this has everything to get you dissapointed if you are loyal fan of solid spy thrillers.
The screenplay is a victim of uninteresting time jumps which taints every bit of engagement it tried to bring in. Other than Leslie Manville's vicious performance , Citadel fails to deliver even in terms of any other credible performance. The action set pieces other the opening sequence doesn't catch your eyes as all seem mediocre.
Overall, if you are someone who binge watches everything popular you may not like Citadel as it feels monotonous and tedious, but if you ocassionaly watch content on your TVs then this might be a good option to try. You might also want to watch this as Amazon is producing a spyverse for Citadel across multiple countries. Indian Edition of Citadel stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha and is being directed by Raj and DK. Citadel S01 also teases thr next chapter Citadel : Diana starring Italian actress Matilda De Angelis which will release in 2024.

First two episodes are good, hopefully it'll get better in the last four.
I'm a big fan of spy movies, but this was terrible. It felt like it was written by an AI. Dumb story, zero genuine idea, bad actors, zero chemistry, bad dialogs.
I was just about to stop watching when I realised it's the last episode. Might as well finish it.
Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but this show needs several architectural engineers to design a suspension bridge strong enough to make this enjoyable.
It felt like Moonfall, but as a spy show. I hoped it would find its footing, but it didn't.
This show isn't worth to watch. There are too many time jumps and this doesn't help. Leave and go watch The Night Agent...
Priyanka has played same role in multiple Bollywood Movies & 2 English/Hollywood TvShows now - she has no acting range. She just looks good ofc as an Ex Miss World Winner. The visuals and action are ok but let down by poor plot, woke dialogue and emphasis on romance instead of spy plot. I don't really know why I am watching but feel like I need to finish a weak plot thread in there somewhere. Richard M looks good but same acting as Bodyguard. Prefer The Terminal List.
The whole concept of "having all nuclear codes" is flawed. At least US change them daily. It's kinda as stupid as the "we use only 10% of our brain" (though not used in this show).
Also it wouldn't matter if the codes actually worked. They can't just make a call and launch nukes just because they have the codes.
Of course CIA didn't have a single guard for the case.
Omg. They don't even try to make it believable. The nuclear codes are 8 years old.
For a show that costs 300 million dollars, the cg is remarkably bad.
Citadel - A disappointing mess with a convoluted plot, weak characters, and lackluster action. Wasted potential and a profound sense of disappointment. Avoid.
Did I watch it all? Yes.
Did I hate it? No.
Will I ever watch it again or diarise the second season? Not at all!
This was thrown together like a scrapbook with no time to like any of the characters. The acting was, for the most part, wooden and the only action happened in the very first scene. The final episode kind of just ended in the middle of nowhere then you see some trailer about the "Citadel Universe" and its expansion. Because forcing a universe down viewers' throats worked so well for Godzilla's Monsterverse, Sony's Dark Universe and even DC's Extended Universe. Calm down, Amazon, get back in your lane!
Writing on this show is hot garbage. Action is ok. Showrunners remember guns run out of bullets and you need to reload. Also Priyanka looks like miss piggy. Put a bag on her. Bad guys are the best part of this show.
I’m not sure why this show was made. It’s pretty bad but if you turn off your brain, don’t question any logic and go with it…it could be some what half decent way to waste 6 hours of your life. Until you get to the end and realize the show just randomly ends. It’s like they ran out of money or one of the studio exec had few seconds of clarity in between his / her cocain snorting run; and said what the fuck are you people making….and pulled the budget. On second thought don’t even bother watching it, it’s that bad of a show.
I regret sitting down to watch this. I'm only glad it was limited to 6 episodes, every week I'd tell myself I was done with it but you know, sunk cost fallacy and all that.
Production values are decent, Amazon clearly spent some money on this. In every other aspect it's dreadful. I actually hope this one was written by an AI; surely no human could have penned this. The plot is jammed full of every conceivable spy trope. The script is mainly nonsense spy jargon. The characters behave inconsistently. The whole thing jerks from one implausible scenario to another via some bs plot device introduced 30 seconds earlier. It has a habit of treating you like a 5 year old too, either having a character explain something any good show would allow you to figure out yourself; or inserting a recap/flashback of something from 10 minutes ago because it's about to be super relevant.
Oh well, I might never get those 5 hours back but at least I can drop this now without an incomplete season in Trakt and I can forget all about it before the "expanded spyverse" arrives next year. Hopefully Amazon forgets about it too and it never gets released.
SEASON ONE: From the very beginning, it had the slick feel of a blockbuster spy thriller, but with each episode the twists and turns became too coincidental and impossible. There were times that I felt it deserved an 8 (slick and stylish) but the accumulation of impracticality detracted from the quality of storytelling. The best I will give it is a 7 (entertaining) out of 10. [Spy Thriller]
I came for the spy on spy action and this show had it in spades. Something is still missing as the big reveals did not shock me as they should.
I mean, yeah, the series is one of the worst I've seen in such a long time, but nothing compares to Richard Madden PHYSICALLY struggling to do an American accent. It was so distracting. I can't believe someone saw a take of him and decided WOW GREAT let's continue with that. Everything he says sounds monotone. What an absolute miscast. It's so bad they even added that "twist" at the end to help the situation a little, which I found quite hilarious.
Too bad it takes to Episode 5 before things finally start to go somewhere and it becomes less much 'setting the scene'.
Don't bother it's nonsense, must be something to do with writers strike, it's like they fit the uber driver to write it, horrible actress in lead role
I think they hired a middle schooler who likes James Bond to write this. If there's a twist and the first episode was a dream or a simulation or something please let me know and I'll continue watching. Otherwise, Amazon needs to rethink what how they spend their giant budgets.
I know this was horrendously panned by critics but I liked it. It's probably not worth the money put into it, but while predictible in terms of scenari, it's a lot of action with two strong leads. Even though they don't have much chemistry together, the stories are solid enough for it not to be a problem. But that's just me and my taste is all over the place so what do I know?
Very slick with character development. Plot wise very intriguing. Don't end up like 24.
I wish the scriptwriters come up with something better than "hacking the firewall". You don't assault a building with pistols. No matter how good a shot they are.
Nothing about this was great. The dizzy camera effects were too much, and the acting was too little. Nothing dryer than it's plot.
I really wanted to like it more than I did. I enjoyed the acting by all involved but the storyline was just all over the place for me. Sometimes less is more.
:heart:x6
I was excited for this show to arrive. But then sadly, reality set in. The story would have been better minus some red herrings. Richard Maddens performance felt bland and wooden. And worst of all, season 2 appears that it will have a completely new cast and will have nothing to do with season 1 except the title of the show.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
I think they got poor man's version of generative AI to create the script for this show.
I gave rating for the first 2 episodes but gave up after 4, it went down hill fast. Don't know why Amazon renewed it for second season but I won't return for it.
[Prime Video] A spy story that mixes a bit of everything to offer an enjoyable and suitably short product. The international locations shine, but it feels like it's missing some more spectacular action scenes that really reflect why it's the second most expensive series ever (a fight in a train bathroom as an intro?). The controversial production has caused some mismatches (that James Bond-esque ski scene that was supposed to open the series and was moved to episode 3). But it offers enough doses of entertainment to not to be especially disposable.
Episode 1 10/10 great
Episode 2 8/10 passable
Episode 3 6/10 unsure
Episode 4&5 4/10 run of the mill zzzz
Episode 6 7/10 too little to late????
They took a movie script and stretched it out into a tv show, should have been 4 episode long at best and should have had a lead actress that can do more then play a character who’s face is Botoxed up……
I went into this knowing I was going to have to completely suspend reality for a large part of it... and I did. But episode 6 is so off the rails stupid I won't return to any of this rubbish in the future.
For episodes 1-5 I'll give it a 6.5 - watchable - just.
Episode 6 - 1 - utter crap.
Overall 4.5 / 10
Stuff like this is one of the main reasons I will never subscribe to Amazon TV.
The glossiest, heaviest-budgeted collection of clichés the algorithm could ever come up with.
Citadel is a show that had a lot of potential but ultimately fell short. The acting was abysmal and the plot was boring. The time jumps were also annoying and made it difficult to follow the story. Overall, I would not recommend this show.
If you want a solid, action packed, suspenseful spy show, I'd recommend Netflix's The Night Agent, instead. If you want frustration and your brain to turn into goo, please, do stick around.
The FBI & Quantico has prepared Priyanka for this futuristic role .
Just completed first episode. Looks like this is going to be a good show.

8/10 good
Based on the first two episodes, so let’s see where we go with this……
It’s slick, glossy and produced as if it’s a movie, all good thing believe me……
A spy thriller with a Stella cast and production values, yes your correct in thinking it’s all been done before and that all they can do is regurgitate the same old storylines….
But this does feel fresh and new, with all the gadgets and fight scenes you could possibly want, just with a small amount of modern twists to it…..
Just a damn good show that entertains you and no preaching in sight.
Here’s hoping I can do another update with a even better score or at worse a score that remains the same
