Why would you take your kids to the police station just to find out if the man who (indirectly) killed your wife was captured yet? That's not something you need to subject your kids to... It doesn't help them any. Now you're just forcing them to be bored out of their minds waiting hours on end inside a police station, while they're dealing with the loss of their mom.
What a cheesy ending. They just so happen to spot the guy walking past right at the exact moment they need to. Then Hailey once again has to save him from drowning. Lame.
