I know she's brought on because Sophia Bush is leaving the show at the end of this season in a couple of episodes, but as of right now plot-wise, she's here to fill in for Burgess. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Why would you leave the unit you have status in to go fill in a spot that will only be available for like a month or two at most?

How about because he was using an automatic weapon to threaten innocent people, refused to comply with the police, and then was in the process of aiming said automatic weapon at the police? Those are definitely all valid reasons. Maybe keep better track of your child and don't let him rob banks, huh?

Canadian Tracy Spiridakos (Hailey Upton) steps in for Mairina Squerciati (Kim Burgess) as the latter goes off on maternity leave. I remember Tracy from her portrayal of the gutsy, beautiful, fierce survivor (Charlie Matheson) in Revolution. I think she will be a great addition to the cast of Chicago PD, and, hopefully, for longer than just a maternity leave sub.
