Can we ditch this Patterson crap and all the rest if the soap opera crap and get back to firefighting drama please.
It was one thing for Herrmann to be teasing Freddie so casually like that ( especially since they really just met and got to know each other ), but it's another not to apologise after being asked to a couple of times in a row... Not saying Herrmann deserved it, but... ¯_(ツ)_/¯
In all fairness tho, calling someone 'short and fat' is pretty rude. I mean, it's not something you should be stabbed over but yknow, maybe he can learn from this - become a nicer human being, one that doesn't go around calling people 'short and fat' and then say they should 'get tougher skin' when they get offended.
OH BOY, WHY END AN EPISODE LIKE THIS AND COME BACK ONLY IN JANUARY????????!!!!??????? WHY??????????

What an absolutely stupid ending. Freddie suddenly being super defensive about being made fun of came out of nowhere and was stupid. Herrmann refusing to apologize was also stupid, because that isn't what Herrmann is normally like at all. Not to mention that the jab was awkward and forced anyways - it didn't feel like natural dialogue. "Short and fat? Oh, just like you, haha." Just a dumb and contrived ending for cheap shock value.
Brett's date with this guy was also silly. No one is going to bring up how they were arrested and convicted, unprompted and out of the blue, on the first date. That's just ridiculous.
Patterson was an obvious roadblock character from the beginning, and was never very interesting. Not sorry to see him go. It was kind of odd that he was initially introduced as being Boden's friend, because they never seemed like friends at all.
What's with One Chicago and having rather unlikable sassy women in a desk/secretary position? Fire has Connie, who has always been fairly unlikable, and her ploy in this episode was odious. P.D. has Platt, who goes out of her way to be aggravating. One could argue that Maggie on Med fits this role as well.
