Eh, I wouldn't say that "braving a wall of fire to save yourself" is all that courageous. It's not like he was saving someone else, he was saving himself. Self preservation doesn't really fall under courage; it's a basic instinct.
"I have to check back with my guys, make sure it's still intact." But... what if it was damaged in the crash? Why would they be liable for that? That whole plot was ridiculous anyways.
