Last year, I watched a bunch of Law & Order SVU while on vacation. This year, since I had watched all of SVU over the past year, I didn't need to watch any of it on TV. (Boy, is it absolutely still being played a bunch.) But I did end up watching a decent amount of Chicago Fire and P.D. this time around. (For whatever reason, they only show those two, and not Med.) I did actually see a couple of episodes of Fire last year as well, but I didn't really care at that time, and didn't fully pay attention. After watching SVU, I had been planning on watching the Chicago shows soon, and figured might as well do it there. It was mostly season 3 and season 10 episodes that I saw. (Why they chose those two specific seasons, I don't know. Two different channels aired almost the same exact stretch of season 10 episodes, just 10 days apart. It was baffling.) I also had the presence of mind to actually track it on Trakt this time around. No idea why I didn't think of doing it last year, and had to do it by memory after the fact.
But now I'm home, so it's time to do it properly and watch it in order. It's interesting to have watched those later episodes, and then come back to the beginning. You can instantly tell that the characters are not the same - aside from the obvious fact that character developments within the plot have not taken place. There's also the simple fact that the actors have not yet fully dialed in the characters. Also, Mouch without the mustache just looks wrong.
Even having seen multiple episodes of this now, I still can't get over Jesse Spencer masking his Australian accent, after having watched him on House. It's not right.
so much drama in the first episode, my heart can't take it
