Michael goes to work for the men who burned him in Season 4 of Burn Notice. Now having common interests (taking out a terrorist), Michael and his crew embark on several join missions with the shadow group that burned him, but everything changes when he recovers a NOC list that could bring them down. Additionally, Michael tries to help a spy he unwittingly burned during one of his mission by recruiting him to join his team while he tries to undo some of the damage he caused. Robert Wisdom, Coby Bell, and Navi Rawat join the cast as recurring characters, and the list of guest stars includes Michael Ironside, Burt Reynolds, Robert Patrick, and Michael Rooker. Having Michael burn a fellow spy takes the character to an interesting place and allows the show to explore the moral ambiguities of spy craft in new ways. And adding a new member to the team changes some of the character dynamics and allows them to switch up and expand their cons. Burn Notice’s fourth season is both an ending and a beginning, tying up some of its long running story threats but also moving the series forward.
