this show is hilarious, silly and makes me laugh every episode
an amazing, very progressive show. a comedy that knows how to be funny without being rude. lots of puns. a strong and very well developed found family trope with a diverse cast. even after four season they are still going strong with the same brand of silly, funny humor.
This show is exactly what it promises - stupid jokes with lighthearted humor and a carefree time. I happen to enjoy all of those.
The first seven seasons was kind of "stupid funny", where the show was pretty dumb but made you chuckle and sometimes laugh out loud. Really, the first three seasons were like that, then four through seven were mostly just chuckles.
Season 1-3: Funny
Season 4-7: Dumb, but you can chuckle (NBC got their hands on it)
Season 8: Woke garbage from the first 30 seconds
Season 8 couldn't wait to get their woke on. 30 seconds in gives us a litany of virtue signaling and political pandering and that was all I could handle. You get to hear about racial equality, race baiting, cultural appropriation, George Floyd being a saint and the savior of the universe, the sins of being white, the police being bastards - all in a 30 second span. At that point I stopped the show, deleted the episode and won't ever watch this woke garbage again. Andy Samberg has always been relatively neutral politically, he decided to plummet off the cliff of the most far-left agenda possible.
The chemistry is perfection, the pacing unsurpassed.
Running gags are present but not overplayed, and characters are allowed to develop. Few sitcoms are so willing to take such risks.
When I started watching I watched the first 4 episodes in two months.. I just didn't see the appeal but I knew that many people thought the show was great so one day I sat down and binge watched the first season and I fell in love after just few episodes. I watched all 5 seasons in three weeks. I fell in love with the characters, the humour and how the show handles subjects as racism, gender equality and many others. This is one of a kind and I'm glad it got saved. Nine-Nine!
Come season 3 and this show is going down..fast, the humor's really stale and uninteresting.
Let's forget about the parallels between the real police and the one represented, the series is funny and entertaining, without any pretense of veracity or social criticism, it just wants to make you spend a carefree half hour. And it succeeds.
love this show it had numerous great 1 liners every episode. The weiters did a great job creating the comedy and the rest of the team delivered the content every episode. Miss these kind of shows with all the laughter and fun entertainment.
I honestly didn't think I would be so emotional now that the series has ended. But, for some reason, it feels like my entire childhood just ended. I was dismissing the feelings I would feel once the show ended but these just hit me like a truck now. Some genuinely fun moments. Some cringe here and there. The last two episodes are probably my most favourite episodes ever.

it's an amazing show that brings up a lot of important issues on our society and at the same time it makes you laugh a lot. so easy to binge watch it!

You fall for the characters instantly, and your love for them grows throughout the episodes and seasons until your heart can no longer contain how much you love and care about this show and every single character in it.

i watched this show so quick now my heart is broken and i miss the 99 so much.. just watch it and in love with it. while watching i laughed a lot and had a smile on my face always.
Started watching this because I was bored, had no show I was following, so got curious about this one ... got hooked on the first episode. It's funny, genuine and creative ... love it :D

The first few episodes were absolutely hilarious. And then all of a sudden, I found the show becoming really boring and tired. Maybe it was just the mood I was in, but I couldn't get into this. I wish the characters could've had a bit more depth. They all only seem to exist to be the butt of many lame jokes. I don't know, I may give this another chance someday. But as it is, I think this show is pretty overrated.
I like Andy Samberg and I absolutely love Scully and Hitchcock, and I definitely like this show, but I don't dig it as much as Parks & Recreation. Some characters get annoying after a while, for example Rosa. Or Gina... and Charles isn't that good either. In Parks & Rec I liked almost everyone of the main cast. This show is just good, but not great.
I love this show. It is hard to find a show with such a unique vibe. It is hilarious and the characters are well developed and suit the diverse cast. New episodes can't come soon enough.

After the first 2 episodes of season 8 I stopped watching.
Prior to that the first 7 seasons were awesome.
A feel-good series, funny every season, with characters with very endearing personalities. The kind of series that you can watch on repeat without getting bored.

The episodes can be funny at times, the characters are not that interesting and not that well fleshed out in my honest opinion, I've seen a lot funnier cop shows than this Castle is more grittier, granted it's not a comedy sitcom, but the interaction between the characters is well written and it's funnier too. Which is where I think Brooklyn Nine-Nine fails. The scripts, some are good (Sal's Pizza, Operation Broken Feather) but sadly other episodes fall way short. Now I wasn't expecting a Police Squad (1982) or Sledgehammer (1986-1988) type show (sadly) but hoping that Season 2 offers a little bit more.
a diverse and hilarious show that deserved more than being cancelled after 5 seasons. i hope another network or service will pick it up! over the last 5 years it's been a show that i've always looked forward to watching and i'm really going to miss its lovable, funny characters
update: SEASON 6 WILL BE ON NBC!! even if it's just for one final season i'm glad b99 is being given the second chance it deserves!!

Hands down the best TV show on television. Its perfect front to back EXCEPT the beginning of the final season where they bring in COVID and everything... its like no we didnt HAVE to do that.
As a late-comer to this series, I was cautious (I'm not a big SitCom fan) but what a wonderful discovery. The writing is smart, the characters are quirky (in the best way), and the wit is clever, rapid paced, self-depreciating and funny. Sure, the main character is a boy/man so the humour can be pubescent, but I love this character driven humour (like in BIG BANG THEORY or BARNEY MILLER) because I love the characters. The casting is as spot on as the performances. The relationships are pivotal and, at times, poignant. But, what really caught me, hook, line and sinker, was the realization that the dialogue is embarrassingly similar to my own inner dialogue, just barely beneath my filters. Totally enjoyed this series and I give it an 8 (great) out of 10. [Cop Comedy]
Very much enjoyed season 1 and most of season 2 -- unlike other sitcoms that start with well written and acted humor only to later morph into annoyance, this one becomes incrementally more entertaining, at least until season 3. With the 3rd season, glimpses of previous humor peek through, however, more often it has the out-of-steam demeanor that often plagues sitcoms as their shelf-life approaches expiry :-(

I don't know what to say that I haven't already said in the comments for individual seasons. Brooklyn Nine-Nine got into a bit of a slump near the end, as many sitcoms do. Perhaps it would have been better to delay production after scrapping the first four scripts of that final season in June 2021 instead of rushing ahead to release in August, but I can understand not wanting to push back what would be the show's final batch of episodes. Ultimately, I think the rush only affected the first few aired scripts, and the series still managed to end on a high note.

I'm a fan of this show. Good balance of comedy entertainment and great characters. This show is light in context, so it is still engaging watched out of order or if a few episodes are missed. Glad they saved this show more seasons. I look forward to each one.
This show is fun. The humor is on the silly side, but once you get to know the characters it gets funnier.

was fun to watch in the begining now they all look the same, sound the same... same jokes, some things all every week.
Definitely has a bit of a SNL vibe to it, and cannot be taken seriously at all, but it has enough good jokes to keep my interest as a show to watch in the background while I'm doing something else (although they do seem intent on pushing the jokes as far as they can possibly go until they aren't funny anymore).
Absolutely shocked the Samberg won the Golden Globe for this. I like the show and I like Samberg, but the show is very shallow and hardly something to stretch Samberg.
To have beat the calibre of the other nominees (Jason Bateman [Arrested Development, say no more], Don Cheadle [so good in HoL], Michael J Fox [I was hoping MJF would win], Jim Parsons [frankly a tired meh]) makes no sense to me.
To be honest, this show makes me want to turn the channel and re-watch Reno 911 instead.
I think this show is pretty good. The characters seem interesting and I like the more relaxed tone for a cop show. But most importantly, it is funny. I like comedies that are funny (a few sitcoms these days often forget this part).

One of the funniest and Best Police Show's I've watched. Just because it's not as funny as the office doesn't mean it's not good because I feel like every cast member was perfectly casted but the 2 best actors in the entire show were Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher their chemistry was off the charts (RIP Andre Braugher). I also think once you get passed the first episode you'll really enjoy this show. I feel like everyone should at least watch the 1st two episodes of this show before determining if they like it or not because that's how long it took me. Also I hope people don't take this show seriously when watching because it's a comedy not a drama.

I don't watch comedies or sitcoms easily. This series is at number 1 for me at the moment. I watched the series most of the time when I was depressed because it has a structure that manages to entertain even people who have lost their mood. You can empathize with all the characters. You feel like you are family with them. Although the last 2 seasons were below their quality, the final episodes were very good. I gave it 9/10. I just found out it's the final episode, I thought it was 9 seasons :)

I can't believe it's been 8 years. For me, this is one of the few shows which kept a constant high level. I'm gonna miss these characters and all the stupid jokes. It was a great ride! Would recommend to anyone. When Scrubs and Cougar Town ended, B99 filled the comedy void for me. It's a classic, just like the other two. Honestly, I don't know which comedy show is next... :cry:

I avoided this show for so long because I'd seen little clips of it and wasn't too fussed. I only chose to watch it from the beginning because it is one of my friends favourite shows of all time so it wanted to give it a shot.
I ended up absolutely loving this and being invested in each and every one of the characters, this show has some cringy moments but some really poginant episodes like Moo Moo (from Season 4), where they discuss things relating to Black Lives Matter. some very important topics are touched upon and I'm really glad overall that I decided to watch this show.

I love this TV show. It's reasonably funny and makes me laugh during almost every episode. Only the character of Gina really annoys me…
I can really appreciate the character development in this show. The characters have just enough depth to care about, and the humor isn't so over the top to not be taken seriously. I would really like to see Hitchcock and Scully eventually prove their worth with the force at some point. Either way, I'll be excited to see how this show continues to develop in the future.

After we lost Andre, I started a re-watch of B99. It is one of the best procedural police settings that isn't a drama. The jokes and situations always provide a good laugh. Each character adds to the story in their own way while complimenting the others. My favorite character is and will forever be, Capt. Holt. Close second is Rosa.
