The series tracks the impact of how a fatal diagnosis affects a man’s morality. Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher, needing to pay his medical bills and ensure that his family has a secure future decides he has nothing to lose and embarks on a career of drugs and crime for which he proves to be remarkably proficient. In this new world as he begins manufacturing and selling methamphetamine with one of his former students Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) he discovers the impact of this choice. There are 5 full seasons and minisode specials.

The sequel film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie starring Aaron Paul was released on Netflix and in theaters on October 11, 2019.

"Better Call Saul" a prequel TV series reveals the backstory of how the "Breaking Bad" character Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became a lawyer, reprising Breaking Bad roles of Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) & Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), debuted on AMC on February 8, 2015, and has been renewed for a final sixth season.
