this was a very weak attempt at a BG spinoff
Really fun and underrated. Loving season 2 a lot so far. This is definitely not a "superhero" show, feels more like Archer but just when they stay in the office
I picked Birdgirl at random, not expecting much outside of the same stochastic humor one finds on Adult Swim. There is a bit of that here, but not too much. I'm not the first, and won't be the last, person to compare this to Archer - which I loved.
The two best parts of the show are Birdgirl herself, and Meredith - they alone are worth watching the series. Some of the other characters could be annoying, but improved in later episodes.
Another part to mention is the humor: there were times it felt like the show was veering into woke territory, but then made fun of those ideologies. Ultimately the writing for Birdgirl nests in a zone where it can laugh at extremes on the left or right, while still making a point, without sacrificing anything.
Just for context: I never saw Harvey Birdman, so I have no point of reference for the greater mythology here. I just went in blind, and still enjoyed this very much. What got my attention first was the superhero aspect to the show, however there is less Birdgirl, and more Judy as the episodes progress.
Overall, this is great. It's no Rick and Morty, but what is?
This is made by Williams Street Productions for fans of Williams Street Productions (Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Brak Show, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law...). A hellish take on The Office set in the dark upside-down version of the Hanna-Barbara universe created by the demented minds at Cartoon Network. I highly recommend it.

Couldn't make it to ep 2. That was one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life. No way this is the same people as birdman.
