2 episodes in not impressed (even kind of boring). I hate the format with the cops at the press conference droning on)Not sure what the hype was about. I will finish hopefully it gets better.
Probably some of the best television I've ever seen. Definitely up there with the best that's ever been. Told me many things about trauma, and the recovery from it. Very well acted, and written. Reece Witherspoon for me was the stand-out. Nicole Kidman was just brilliant.
Curious murder mystery, manages to grab your attention and keeps you on the leash, but that ending is a huge middle finger to those of us who invested in the characters. Was it cancelled before they could mumble, mumble, mumble... conclusion? (runs off to find out from google, but thanks in advance).
I remember when I started this, I was going to watch one episode and then study, but ended up finishing the show in one day and ignoring all my responsibilities. I’m a big fan of mystery/thriller shows like this, so its rare that I find one that really stands out to me. The first season especially stood out! I also love plot twists and this has a good one.
Would've rated it a PERFECT 10 if the show had ended on the first season. Season 2 was great, but nothing compared to the first one, so it felt a bit unnecessary. Anyways, I highly recommend it. Very complex stories combined with an amazing acting that will make you go through an emotional rollercoaster.
First season was great, the second season...not so much. I remember reading after season one they weren't sure if they were even going to have a second season considering season one was based on the book and they would need to create the second. I can honestly say I was not much of a fan and wish it would have stopped after season one. Don't get me wrong, it is an HBO show with a great cast, which means solid production and acting. It is still "good" but doesn't appeal to my taste and is drastically different from its predecessor. There will be people out there that either connect to the topics and/or love slow burning dramas and love the entire series. Me on the other hand, I would recommend watching the first and skipping the second.

I'm speechless, this first season was so great!
The outcome was great, the environment, the superficial conflicts of the high society staff and the big dark side too! I'm here deciding between 9 and 10 stars !!
Not to mention the soundtrack, and the cast too. I loved this! HBO leaving me breathless here!
Fuck, what have I just watched?! Such raw performances. Brilliant. I have to say I felt Celeste's pain every single minute thanks to the incredible performance of Nicole Kidman. Besides, that opening shows you how delightful all the colours and sounds will be for 7 episodes in a row. Damn, the editing was A+! Truly loved it, I'm waiting for more.

there's more emotion and thought provoking material present in this miniseries than there is in most full length tv shows. raw and powerful performances, incredible editing, an amazing soundtrack. this is truly something really special.
i'm just gonna say this (Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, Nicole Kidman, Zoë Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon). i am DEFINITELY watching this.
I don't know what it says about me that I can understand SciFi multiverses and Fantasy worlds better than I can relate to the world of rich, suburban, Californian women. So it took me awhile to get into the mindset of this drama. But when I got there I found a superb cast playing multifaceted characters; a mystery from the beginning yet unresolved until the last roll of the film. Ultimately this is human stories of women dealing with their multilayer lives, with friendship, protecting those they love, navigating social tide pools, and finding their way through the fallibility of life. Basically 7 (good) out of 10, but the finale brings the whole series up to a 7.5 (well executed) out of 10.
Great miniseries! Not too long. Action and mystery packed!!

Season 1: Decent, intriguing whodunit. Not nearly as good as White Lotus, but entertaining
Season 2: Unwatchable rubbish telenovela nonsense. The grandma character? WTF.
This was a really good show. It’s definitely marketed towards women, and the only reason why I watched was for my wife, but I’m glad I did, and I’ll continue to watch more of it if they make more seasons.

Wonderful dialogues, excellent performances (all of them but specially Nicole Kidman, fucking mind-bending), amazing soundtrack, very well directed... I couldn't ask for anything else, everything works just perfect.
A dream cast, great acting, AWESOME music, beautiful locale... what isn't to love about this show! I WANT MORE!
It is so sad that there are only two seasons of this amazing show. I loved the casting, the acting of these four ladies is wonderful.

I L O V E this show's editing so much, it works just like how your brain does. It really is very special and very good. Not to mention the phenomenal acting from everyone, beautiful soundtrack, wonderful directing. It has it all. 10/10 would recommend.
I watch a lot of media and I admit that I trudge through a lot of stuff that is just plain bad, fair or just good enough. But, then, I get to watch series like this that raises the bar and makes TV the best way to tell a story. This is superb storytelling! The actors are worldclass (It brought Meryl Streep to a small screen production. What!) and the performances are vulnerable and flawless. Despite the marquee talent, I was never distracted from the character by the star. I even appreciate how this novel (then novelette) got produced by a group of working actresses that pulled together an ensemble effort both on and off screen and sold it to HBO. A warnings to people who will be seeing this series from the beginning - the first season has some very graphic, violent, sex scenes that are not in the least gratuitous but are, in contrast, seminole to the one character's journey (Nicole Kidman was fearless and naked in her portrayal). I gave the first season an 8 (great) out of 10, but, having rewatched the first, followed closely by watching the whole of the second season, (the ability to binge a series rather than watch it episodically is a gift, and my preference) I raise my rating to 10 (excellent storytelling) out of 10. God this série is sooooooo good!!! The characters :o OMG best acting ever. Can't stop feeling bad about Céleste and admire Nicole Kidman's acting. The music, the directing, the ambiance, everything is perfect. Can't wait for season 3!!!!

This is an amazing 7 eps series. I mainly watched because of Alexander Skarsgard, but the rest of the female roles were really good. Storyline was definitely powerful for such a short series. It didn't took me long to figure out that Jane was raped by Perry for some reason.. But i like how they put the story across, making the audiences wonder bout the mysterious person when he was right in front of us all the time. Great watch i'd say~ People who doesn't wanna get stuck with longwinded dramas should give this a shot!
