I rewatched the miniseries in 2020 and HOLY HELL does it hold up. Blows nearly anything else from the last 17 years out of the water. Now, granted, the show did... falter later on, especially in later seasons, but the miniseries is an incredible achievement and hasn't aged at all in nearly two decades.

I love the feel and setup of the new Galactica. Reminds me of carriers of our day. Also the space scenes are great. Someone really thought that through. The main characters from the classic series are all there by name. But they all have certain "issues" and their relations to one another are also different. Which sets the stage for great drama.

I have to single out EJO who is great as Adama. While Lorne Grene was more of the father type, Olmos' Adama is a tough, no nonse, don't frak with me type.

One thing that is the same from my point of view concerning old and new version: my favorite character by far is Starbuck.
