Arrested Development

Season 4

Now the story of a family whose future should have remained cancelled after season 3 and the one fan who had no choice but to watch season 4 to keep her trakt.tv account together. It's Vanessa's Arrested Development.

You have to be a little careful with judging this season because the episodes are split up by character. So you'll get the GOB and Tobias episodes which are the best of the entire show and will have you on your side laughing the entire time, and then you'll get the Maeby and George Sr. episodes which are pretty bad.

And now the story of a brilliant television series that was cancelled, and the one network that resurrected it and turned it into festering garbage. The atrociousness of Arrested Development’s fourth season may not be Netflix’s fault entirely, but the carte blanche that they gave the show’s producers allowed them to run it off the rails. The premise of the show is changed, and it’s turned into more of an anthology series; focusing on a different Bluth family member each episode. The characters have also been changed and rewritten to fit the new tone of the series; causing them to lose a lot of their charm. Still, Season 4 does do a good job at bringing back and using the supporting characters from past seasons. And, the comedy stays true to the clever, unique style of the series. Yet while there are some bright spots, this deformed version of Arrested Development is hard to watch. Season 4 was a huge mistake.

I must say this. This season is fun, but gosh I can't stand Tobias character. He is SO annoying.

So much fun! This season took me a while to love but all those crossing story lines / points of view and jumps in time are gold!

I really don’t know what to make of season 4. Is the original cut better than the remix? I laughed a couple of times, but I’m still very divided about which version I like more. Leave it to Netflix to make a a complete shitshow out of an amazing show.

Jeffrey and Jessica in wigs works so much better than Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen..

This show is in my all time top 5 comedies, but they really butchered distribution of this amazing series, what the actual F….

Disney+ only has the first 3 seasons
Netflix has all seasons but the first 3 don’t have subtitles due to “licensing”
The season 4 remix (fateful consequences) is the default 4th season on Netflix
And if you want to watch the original 4th season, it’s also on Netflix but it’s tucked away under “trailers and extras” and you can’t even play it like a regular season, you have to manually go into trailers and extras and select the individual episodes, meaning Netflix also doesn’t track which ones you’ve watched.

All that to say, I finally discovered that season 4 is hidden away on Netflix, always having assumed that the remix (fateful consequences) was just the reboot of the show, which it’s not. So my trakt history is also messed up, not going to try and fix it but still, what a mess.

:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:This show really deserves better than to be treated like a child stuck in a custody battle between two moronic parents who don’t give a damn about the impact on the kid.:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:

Sorry to say I'm not looking forward to watching S5 at all. I knew S4 would not be the same but I didn't expect it to lose pretty much all charm and magic of the previous seasons. With the exception of Gob and Buster's episodes, this season was a complete drag. And was a struggle to get through.
