I watched two episodes and I tried to give it a chance, but it just was not funny. It could have had the potential to be, but so many of the jokes fall flat and the main character comes off as kind of a jerk and not really likable. It's too bad that this isn't that good because I do like Katy Mixon and she is funny, but this show is not.
love it so much idc like yea its obviously bad but I just love shitty family sitcoms and like also its not that bad like there were so many moments that had me laughing, crying and smiling so hard. like im literally apart of the family. so disappointed tho cause i literally thought that Oliver and Cooper were going to be gay the whole time until like the last couple of episodes but they werent which sucks like it wouldve been so good. also WHY IN THE FUCK DID THEY RECAST ANNA KATT #NOTMYANNAKATT AND ALSO DORIS AND ANGELA LIKE WTF AND WHY TF DID IT END LIKE THAT KILLING MYSELF i miss them so much

this show is so obsessed with weight and size, i thought even back in 2016 we were better than this.
The whole first episode premise is trying to put down "skinny people", supposedly to make the mum feel less "fat". even goes to the point of the family scaring away "skinny people" from buying a nearby house owned by a "fat pam"
The mum also throws away a "green health juice" the sports obsessed daughter bought so her daughter doesnt become one of those "skinny mothers", which is sending a bad message.
The show was blatantly created with the male gaze in mind. a large shot of the mum and a lesbian kissing wildly. and a brazen multi second shot of a teenage daughter while her mum discuses her boobs, btw this actor was 15/16 at the time of filming
But to give the show credit the mothers parenting of the middle child making him less obsessed with money and willing to help out the homeless.
and i believe their is fair disability representation of the youngest daughter with germophobic OCD, while they could do better in writing the character, they are on their way.
As a Housewife/Mum, I can completely relate to this show. Of course the situations are all over exaggerated, but that it what American comedies do (not judging - much). Katie/Katy is brilliant in this show.
This series remembers and tries to be "The Middle". Same patterns, but it's almost nothing funny. I gave up.

This is so terrible I don't know where to start.
It's like a very very weak copy of The Middle, a very loud, tomfoolish, without finesse kind of copy.
Managed to watch the pilot and half of the second episode before I binned it.
