There was a little gore in this season. There was zero Horror. This was boring, confusing, an all over the place. Time to cancel AHS.
Well, that’s 430 mins of my life wasted, that I’ll never get back
This didn't felt like an AHS season at all if this was any other original Ryan Murphy production it would've landed well but this aint it, felt like a gay pespective Pose with an artistic vision on what AIDS epidemic was like . AHS kinda lost its shine with the original cast leaving
Well that was very morbid. The man in leather was never really a person but AIDS itself attacking and looming over everyone the whole time?? We just got to watch as it took them all.
10 episode long PSA
This has my vote for the worst season in AHS history (so far).
A very sad ending. Unusual season, no AHS actually.
radioactivity hits so good at the end
I’ve said it 3 times already. Best thing about this season was the opening credits.
Para-nor-mal activ-ity. There was none in this season for you or me.
I got a feeling that I'm the only one that enjoyed the music montage. Dark, lonely and depressing
Weird and abrupt ending that felt a bit incomplete. But there was a lot of compelling imagery here. I thought they did a great job at depicting the tragedy and devastation of this moment in history. It really is a true American horror story, but it’s not American Horror Story.
I’m all for a show mixing things up, giving the audience something new and from a different perspective. But I personally don’t watch this show to feel sad and melancholic. I dunno… I just feel that this story would have been better received without the inherent base expectations that come with American Horror Story. I personally wasn’t in the mindset to sit through this. Albeit powerful, it should have been a separate series.
Unusual, not so horrifying, but emotional and „realistic“ story. It wasn’t the worst season. That is still part two of season 10.
WTF? Who tunes into AHS to watch a 32 minute social commentary music video? This show is supposed to be a premium drama/horror, not some university student film.
Truly haunting end with Kraftwerk’s Radioactivity. This deserved its own show over several seasons. Was one of the very few AHS seasons I binge watched and managed to finish.
this is an absolutely horrible season. so much for horror". Should probably take that out of the name.
Usually I'd say that Ryan Murphy once again doesn't quite stick to the landling, however that is not entirely true this time around, more like he got lost along the way. The premise and the cast were interesting and bold choices for a season of AHS, but the way they balanced the Whitely's and the AIDS storylines was mishandled. I believe the AIDS epidemic back then was an actual horror story so I don't think it's completely far fetched to adapt it into a narrative for this show, but I have mixed feelings about its portrayal.
On the early episodes, Sam tells Theo Big Daddy was an actual person that had passed away and while that could not have been true, you slowly drift into the idea that he is indeed a ghost. But then he becomes this physical manifestation of the disease that can be witnessed by multiple people on the same occasion? The lines got blurred pretty quickly and the writers just decided to go along with it.
Russel Tovey was the true MVP, I hope he comes back! Bit of a odd choice to let Patrick pass away on the second to last episode, when every story seemed to lead back to him.
As for the ending, it lacked some substance. I appreciate the artsy approach of the disease but it reached a point where it was just silly. Feels like everyone's ideas of their metaphores were approved and just shoved in the same scene, back to back. And then you reach Gino's funeral and that's it? Where's the closure for the others characters that were still alive (Henry, Kathy, Fran and her friends?) Even Hannah wasn't worthy enough of a on-screen death.
Funny enough, in some twisted or weird away, I still think this is one of the strongest seasons of AHS on recent years.
What a hot mess of a season
That happened and we let it happen.
Some how I can not understand myself why I wasted my time with this season, 10 hours of my life wasted.
Not saying that the AIDS epidemic, and the way it was mishandled at it's emergence, wasn't a horror story, it certainly was. But, that's not the type of horror story people are looking for from this show. The Mai Tai killer arc would have made a fine AHS movie, but the AIDS plotline should have been its own show. Watch And The Band Played On and Philadelphia, and move on to the next season.
