Solid episode. Paget Brewster is a treat, and it's nice to have more of Jake's puppies being developed as a character, but the story of the understudy who wants to become the star is pretty well-worn territory, and there wasn't that much of the usual Adventure Time twist on it here. Jake feeling like he wasn't a good enough dad is an interesting angle, but it was only lightly touched on.

LSP, however, was in rare form, and casting her as a fussy playwright/director was an inspired choice that provided lots of laughs. The show definitely had the rhythms of stage dialogue down pat. It felt like funhouse mirror version of a show you could see at a local playhouse. By the same token, LSP's rain focus was a silly but enjoyable way to drive her strange focus home, and there was even the hint of pathos when she compared herself to the other princesses.

Again, there were some good laughs, and Brewster did a good job at conveying Viola's yerning to express herself and make a mark, but not one of the show's more notable efforts.
