I went on this giant tangent when Obsidian came out by how Bubbline grew up with us, and tracked perfectly alongside the progression of queer relationships in cartoons. From two female characters being in the same scene without interacting to having tension at first glance over a boy to tons of subtext and winks to the finale kiss because you can only sneak past the censors and make them canon in the ending to actually getting to see them unbridled and in love in Obsidian. And now that continues in a new sense with Lee and Prince.
Mlm relationships have been a little more sparse in cartoons. There’s gay parents, but gay or bi major characters like Benson in Kipo or Kaldur in Young Justice have been harder to find. And to be clear, this is not because sapphic relationships are easy to get on screen. The creatives had to fight HARD to get them there, in cases like Steven Universe at the cost of the show. What Was Missing even caused jobs to be lost in the Federator fallout. Mlm relationships have their own baggage and stereotypes foisted upon them, but they too are gradually getting their day. And even now Adventure Time is helping to pave the path with a sweet, charming little pair I can’t wait to see more of.
Also! Brian David Gilbert!! I knew it was him from the first line!!! What a shock that was and he killed it, give him more roles
Brian David Gilbert my beloved

So far, the songs haven't been nearly as good as Adventure Time (and I think it's got its fair share of bad or mid songs).
I was suspicious of the Winter King when he showed up, and I was right lmao. I figured he'd either be secretly evil or it was all a red herring.
And Gary's cookie people being the candy kingdom characters we know was neat. I do like how integrated the multiverse is in this show. Most things with that setup don't copy side characters.
Also neat to see him interact wtih Marshall (still can't believe how close his name is to Marceline lol. I fuss the writers couldn't think of anything else?)
I'm also pretty sure the shop attendant is the parallel Gunther too. Kinda funny if so lol.
Anyway, this was another good episode. Hoping the last few are more akin to this rather than the first half.
