Adventure Time was one of my daughter's favorite shows in her late teens. I've only seen a few clips & coupl'a episodes.
I don't know if I like this, however. As messed up as Ice King used to be, I thought Jake and Fin had a moral compass although they had a penchant for battle for battle' sake with willing foes -- not that cartoons have to obey a golden rule. But, "Fionna and Cake," seems to be all over the place with nods to PC cultural references shoe horned right up against species-ism and violent exploitation.
But, maybe Fionna and Cake just need to find their footing, and Simon just needs to continue working on himself and realize taking off the crown wasn't a cure.

This feels a lot weaker than the other episodes, and didn't really go anywhere until the very end.
