I appreciate what this show has done with regard to widening the story's perspective; it's been interesting to get more than just the Baudelaires' point of view to give Olaf some much-needed depth and raise the stakes.
Maybe I missed something, but why not just take the fortune of Esmé Gigi Geniveve Squalor? That seems way easier, because she's into Count Olaf.
