I like the show, acting is good, pace is good. Story is mostly garbage and does not make a whole lot of sense.
A bank that has a personal vendetta against a client for no reason. A guy that knocks out a police officer is supposed to be innocent somehow. All the main characters conveniently know each other, but apparently never actually talk to each other.
Ah, "A Man in Full", the miniseries that left me pondering life's deepest questions, like "Why did I watch this?" and "Is there a way to unsee it?" :thinking: Allow me to regale you with my uproarious review of this masterpiece:
Charlie Croker (played by Jeff Daniels) is an Atlanta real-estate mogul who's got it all: private jets, a younger wife, and a bank account that hemorrhages cash like a broken faucet. But when the bank comes knocking for their $800 million loan, Croker's life takes a nosedive faster than a squirrel on an espresso binge.
"A Man in Full" is like a bland sandwich—you take a bite, and you're left wondering why you bothered. If you're looking for a gripping drama, watch "Succession." If you're looking for a gripping horse-breeding tutorial, well, you're still better off with "Succession." :tv:
In summary, this show is about as necessary as a waterproof teabag. But hey, at least it's got Shania Twain, right? ♂
P.S. If you're feeling adventurous, I recommend watching it while juggling bananas. It won't make the show better, but it'll distract you from the pointlessness. :banana:♂
David E. Kelley adapts, with little sense of pace and a confusing mix of genres, an irregular novel by Tom Wolfe. But there is a dispersion in the two main plots that is surprising, as if they were two different series of two different genres with two different structures. With actors unleashed by a direction that perhaps is disadvantaged by the fact that it comes from an actress like Regina King, there is a lot of histrionics and satirical scenes that cross the border of ridiculous. David E. Kelley is better when his series are written by others.
Good casting, I appreciated the jail storyline more than the main one but unfortunately Conrad's performance was not convincing enough. And the ending felt disappointing as well. But I overall like the vibes... ?
At least not a complete waste of time.

Imagine Succession or The Sopranos but they swapped out the terrifying, complex, and charismatic patriarch with Foghorn Leghorn.
I stick around because I was interested in the storyline of the guy who hit the cop (ACAB) but the main storyline was a mess.
The only thing this show could have been good for is a tax right off, unfortunately Netflix's decided to release this utter piece of rubbish instead.
Doesn't do the novel it is "based on" any justice; lacking scope, character depth or even basic plot logic.
