If you want a show where the main male love interest is obsessive, manipulative, jealous, and actively mean to the protagonist’s friends, then this show is for you.
I rarely get angry at characters, but this is a rare exception. Bro seriously needs to find a hobby and worry about himself.
I don't really understand why people dislike Hananoi. He's a 16 yr who has only had people pay attention to him because of his looks until now.
So not only is he young and thus lacking in experience, but also in true self confidence.
Now he finds himself in a new situation and he's trying to find ways to make this person he cares about like him back. Sure he goes to some extremes, but this is a fiction and trying to change yourself to fit what you think your crush wants is pretty darn normal - he cut his hair and look out his earrings, not nearly as drastic as getting nose, lips, boob, butt, etc. work done. As far as the hair and piercings go the MC in Horimiya did the same thing and nobody blinked about it.
