SHIT!! Alex...
Now Tyler is gonna be like this crazy kids shooting to everyone.
I'm glad Tony gave Hannah's parents the audios.
They need to know what happened.
I like this new friendship between Tony, his boyfriend, Skye and Clay.
Is good to them to have friends.
I fucking HATE Bryce!!! I'm so happy everyone is leaving him alone.
I don't like Courtney neither. She need to tell the truth.
Stop this stupid lies!!!
I need a second season.
My kids will be "forced" to watch this show when they are old enough. Lots of important lessons to learn!
I WANT A SEASON TWO RIGHT NOW!
And I hope Alex is still alive. Is one of my favorite characters
So Tyler shoots up the school, right?
This show has left me with a huge emotional hangover and some unanswered questions.
For example, is there any sort of link between seeing Tyler with his big ass gun collection, learning Alex shot himself, and then seeing that little flashback when Alex "defends" Tyler, before Tyler unclips a picture of Alex from among all the other ones?
I know the show is supposed to be about the reasons that led Hannah to kill herself. But, as with the actions of everyone that ultimately drove her to end her life, Hannah's suicide was also an action that deeply affected everyone, but specially all those that she decided to include in her tapes. I'd like to see the consequences of Hannah's actions, beyond those little glimpses we got.
Did the scene where she slits her wrists get removed off Netflix?
The episode was the definition of perfection, and if you don’t agree, then I don’t know what’s wrong with you. I went from a hater of this show to an absolute lover. This was probably the most emotional thing I have ever seen. The last reason was probably the most powerful reason ever. Seeing Mr Porter tear up was incredible. Seeing the Baker parents finding their daughter was so emotional. The show should definitely end here.
I couldn't hold my tears back. This last episode was just so intense and profound. There are many questions that are hopefully going to be answered in season 2. I wanna thank everyone who helped to make this show perfect. Just like @Roof6 said, one day my kids will be "forced" to watch this show, too.
There is no justice is this fucking world. Not before, not now and there won't be later.
that last chat with Mr Porter was hard and painfull. Great job by Clay!!
I cried, and cried, and cried a lot more. This was such a good show, and i'm very happy with this adaptation.
No matter who you're or how you feel, after watching this show you'll be a different person. It'll touch you in the most profound way and change you. This a brilliant and amazing piece of art that will change the lives of various people for the better. Thank you so much Selena Gomez, Mandy Teefey and everyone involved helping to create this beautiful project.
I really don't know what to think actually. My mind is shared with two opinions.
Here there are:
1. Where did the answers go??? I mean, after watching this, it feels like i'm expecting an other episode. In this very episode we would see how Clay's mom understand everything that happened with Clay this few days, the reaction of Hannah's parents about hearing their daughter explaining why she took her own life (producers missed a real heartbreaking scene), the decision of Mr Porter about the future of the tapes, … ; we would also get the answers to "Did Alex succeed killing himself?", "Is this asshole of Bryce Walker will pay for his actions?" and probably others that i forgot.
The point is this end felt, to me, almost rushed. I would not have minded a 90 minutes series finale aha! Btw this makes me questioning about "is this really a series finale?", i really hope they aren't making the mistake of producing a season 2, which would hardly be as good as the first one.
Anyway, i'm still glad they shown us that all the things i listed up there will happen, even if we don't know how and don't see it.
2. Gosh, this SHOW was breathtaking. I got surprised. I thought this was gonna be a usual teen drama and i was reluctant about that.
Maybe i was expecting too much of this series finale, as I got teary-eyed in Episode 11, i was sure i would be moved by this one. But no, this was the end, this was not supposed to be as intense as Clay's tape, that's logical.
I liked a lot of things. Hannah suicide scene narrated by Clay was so deep, and this roles reversal was very interesting. I'm glad Tony did the choice to bring the truth to the parents.
This simple show has a real power, it made the watcher think about the importance of words and actions. 13 Reasons Why is a huge success. The cast is awesome, the production is even more awesome… Thank you Netflix, really.
[EDIT after i rewatched the episode (June 14th)] : When you know there will be a season 2, this season finale is much better! I'm glad they didn't end the show this way but i would still have expected them to close the story definitely. To conclude: i can't wait for season 2!!!
The scene where the Bakers find Hannah in the bathtub was absolutely gut wrenching. That will stick with me for quite a while.
Watching Hannah actually commit suicide was such a raw and important part of this episode and it's a shame Netflix kowtowed to crybabies on Twitter and removed the scenes in a brazen act of cowardice. Apparently some people couldn't handle seeing death in a show centered around it. Pirate this episode if you can -- it's the only way to get the uncut version in this age of digital content delivery where your streaming provider can revise a show years after the fact.
This powerful and emotional season finale explains the final reason why Hannah took her own life. She went to speak with her guidance counselor who didn't give Hannah the support she desperately needed. When Clay goes to see Mr. Porter and tells him what happened, Hannah's on screen suicide made me cry. It was tragic and twisted and I felt like I had been punched in the gut watching this scene. Clay tells Tony that he recorded Bryce's confession for raping Hannah. Tony converts the tapes into digital files and passes it on to Hannah's patents who begin listening to them at the end of the episode. It's also revealed that Alex was the one who shot himself at the end of the previous episode and he is alive in critical condition. At the time I'm watching this, I know there will be a second season, I'm interested to see where things go from here and I hope that those who deserve better will eventually receive it. A terrific first season with wonderful acting, creative cinematography to capture past and present scenes and an overwhelming, heartfelt story makes this an important series to watch.
So this was it? I really liked the show and this episode but there are lots of things without answers... hope we have at least a mini second season.
When Hannah mentioned that Mr. Porter had a tape early on in the season (first or second episode, don't remember which), I assumed and was afraid that he was going to have sexually assaulted Hannah. I'm glad that wasn't the case. I guess I've been watching too much Law & Order SVU...
The scene with Tyler in his room was clearly foreshadowing him possibly becoming a school shooter. But knowing there are 4 seasons of this, and he's credited in all of them, confuses me.
Blaming people for our own decisions... It's just not fair. We all are already grown-ups.
Plus, that counselor is the worst ever.
This episode is very dark :( I can't help myself crying in the scene where she killed herself and her parents entered to find her, just oh my god :(
A very dark to episodes in a row is very hard for me to carry :( So depressing! Cried and cried and cried a lot in this show...
Very overwhelming episode. That last scene of Hannah was too much I started crying without knowing. Hope Bryce goes to jail and never get out. And I'm kinda hoping that Hannah is still alive in hospital or something like that, still wanna see her and clay get together.
My my what an incredible show! Will leave me thinking about it for days...How did Clay know the details of how Hannah killed herself? At that point she had already sent the tapes to Tony... Also, I wish they could elaborate on the reaction of all the involved persons when they heard the news about Hannah. Would be interesting to see that.
An incredible powerful season finale although I was feeling sick to my stomach most of the time watching the episode...especially the suicide scene.
I really liked the show even though it was very hard to watch most of the time. Hannah is a likeable character from the start and you can't help but feel with her through all the s*** she's confronted with. That's why it's so sad. And then there is this beautiful relationship between Clay and Hannah, where you know from the beginning that it won't end the way you'd like it to. It's just heartbreaking.
But I'm really glad there will be a second season because the story has not been told in full and I can't wait to watch more episodes of this great show.
really really powerful episode... ok I have to say it I cry 2 or 3 times... and Justin feel bad I think that was him that shoot himself... I don't know why Alex, but I should imagine...
That scene, that last moments of Hannah, in the bathroom...
Some conclusions can be deduced I guess? Like, after knowing about these tapes and that her son had had them, Clay's mom would leave the case; the evidences were more than enough to bring Bryce to justice; Alex lived after all; Jessica got over her trauma; Hannah's parents won the trial; and so on...
One thing is left unresolved though. Why did Hannah lie about the letter to Zach? What else did she lie about?
In response to @nlellouche review to this last Episode 13 - TAPE 13 A and with regards to your first (1) statement:
First of all I have to recognize I didn't know about the book until I started watching "13 REASONS WHY", I haven't read it yet and maybe never will.
The TV adaptation is a harsh critique to "The Egotistic and Hypocritical Society" where we live, at least, in the western world. It uses a group of High School students and "13 REASONS WHY" as an analogy. All to make us recapacite about our Individual Accountability and Responsibility in Society (a group with "N REASONS WHY").
That is why after TAPE 13 A, there isn't anything meaningful left to tell. It's meaningless what they did or didn't do to anyone. You can imagine whatever you prefer, because no matter you come up the conclusion is always the same. These "13 REASONS WHY" where hers, what they did or didn't is history that can't be changed, so Hannah isn't coming back.
To all those thinking there will be a second season (or mini season), if Netflix continues respecting the original artist work and is wise enough to pull at the top, it won't ever be another.
Remember what Hannah explained on the TAPES about "The Butterfly Effect", our actions, given the adequate circumstances, could put in motion a chain of events whose consequences we would not be able to foresee, and later on she talks about that those tapes could create its own butterfly effect. What you see as the series avances and clearly in Episode 13 - TAPE 13 A is how that butterfly effect is working exacerbating what Hannah, not the victim, but the person corresponsable for the pain of others, had done when she was not just a voice in 13 TAPES.

That was so intense, heartbreaking and painful. That conversation with Mr Porter was so painful and well-done. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. How can someone be like this? My Goodness. I knew the suicide scene was going to be showed, but I didn't expect it to be so fleshy. But it's something you need to see to understand it all.
Thank you Netflix for making this amazing, telling and meaningful show.
Despite all the unanswered questions (which I thought the show would answer), it was great. Episode 11 was hard and tear-eye but this one was something different. I feel as if I had the biggest emotional hangover ever. Am I supposed to guess that Tyler is going to go all kamikaze against the boys at school? And that those photos are his tapes? I'm so glad Tony gave Hannah's parents the tapes. They certainly deserve some closure. I know this show is about the reasons that drive you to suicide but suicide doesnt only scar you but also the people who are closest to you. So I would like a little closure on everyone's storyline. As Hannah said, it's all a butterfly effect. Your actions have consequences on the others and put a chain of events in motion so yeah, I get its all about Hannah but she left a print and so did those tapes. And is Bryce going to pay for his actions? Is Clay's mom going to understand what happened? Lots and lots of answers for an incredibly well-done show that moves you and that everyone should watch.
No matter you are and where you come from, this show changes your life and you will never be the same again. After watching 13 Reasons Why I'm not going to be the same. Thanks for this! A lot of people should know this is real and that this happens even though you turn a blind eye.
