I think this will be enough: by half the movie most of the audience was loudly laughing at this movie. Not WITH the movie, AT it.
Terrible script, acting and visuals. It was somewhat fun, altough unintentional.
I've always liked the "careful what you wish for" theme, ever since seeing the Twilight Zone episode "The Man in the Bottle" as a youngster. Interesting movie here as well........movie snobs need not apply.
i thought Ryan would have a bigger role than just that, but hey! it's done now. the movie was alright tbh, it delivered what it wanted anyways and it turned out quiet nice if you think of it that way. and the chemistry between Ryan & King is awesome, loved that!
I wished for a better movie, but while it isn't a particularly good film, its not as awful as some reviews have suggested. No scares but the concept is chilling enough, despite being a little overfamiliar.
Thanks you Mike and Jay.
Nothing new or noteworthy. As a horror movie it doesn't deliver the goods. Completely forgettable filler. But it's not offensively bad, if you're looking to waste some time with teeny horror....
Beware of what you wish, I like the final destination style deaths, it's been fine
A spark of originality coming from the music box, but then it plays like a very boring supernatural version of Mean Girls.
The end credits were prettier than the whole movie.
This has to be one of the movies with most unlikable main character whatsoever. Claire is one of the most boneheaded and selfish characters I've ever seen in any movie. Everything is "me, me, me" when she speaks. She doesn't like her father because he dumpster dives, her hobbies are the most cynical and generic things, including going shopping at the mall (montage included) and getting endless amounts of takeout; and she continues to make wishes when she knows the consequences, AND those wishes are insanely shortsighted. Now here's the main problem: Claire and her friends are infinitely more unlikeable than the 'bullies' that 'torment' her lol Sure, the bullies are a**holes, but what do they do, all in all? They say rude things to her, and throw coffee at a painting she made. What does Claire do in return? Well you saw it. When she gets the box, the first thing she does is wish that the bully rots. As in, literally rots like a fruit left out in the open. AND THEY'RE HAPPY when the news comes out about it. What is wrong with these characters?! Well I don't feel sympathy for Claire. Claire is an awful, evil person that, within the universe of the film, entirely deserved her fate. And I don't think that her characterization is intentional. If I dont care about the main character and root for the bullies something is not right. So in the end nice horror idea but only a 5 from me thanks to unlikable character.
Useless movie. I hated the protagonist and the whole develpment of the story.
Plus, regarding the ending.. Did she really think that it was so easy to escape from that thing? Really? She was so dumb.
Stupind ending for a stupid movie with a stupid protagonist.
Wow I haven't wanted to watch this for a while and it did not disappoint. Quirky storyline that keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next!
Okay so this movie is beyond fucked up.. i thought it's a final destination wannabe but the third act is brilliant and extremely well acted. It starts off weak but gets stronger with every scene and death. Ignore all the reviews saying it's stupid cause it really isn't.
A delightfully light hearted horror/thriller with a fairly simple premise that packs a psychological and moral wallop. It does a great job of building atmosphere that will have your heart pounding as it goes on when the music box starts to play.
Though it plays to some character tropes, the school reject and popular man girls, it uses these tropes to good effect to drive the plot, and the point home of "what would you do".
Stupid but an amusing movie
A bit enjoyable film for a horror film, it could be a little cheesy but come on that's why they said it's horror, I loved the story and everything and the tense moments in the movie and Joey King was good in this move (and adorable too), I didn't see that ending coming to be honest, thought it's fucked up but a bit cool, so in the end there is no horror movie that much so I would say take a look at Wish Upon it's okay-ish 6/10 and thanks.
One of the funniest movies I've seen all year.
