Maybe it's my lack of exposure to these kinds of relationship dramas as a whole, but I kinda enjoyed this? It veers into melodrama a fair few times, but the story being told here unfolds nicely and with enough soft twists to keep it engaging and compelling. Of the "Summer of Kyle Gallner 2023" trilogy, I'd say this and The Passenger tie for the top spot, but I think What Comes Around was probably the most complete of the three. Kyle does what he does best, bringing a troubled soul to the screen with depth and believability, the man has found his groove and he's absolutely killing it. Enjoyable, give it a whirl.

if you like a nice little Sunday night Lifetime movie, you will enjoy this one.
The acting is decent, and the story twists are nice. The music is too loud, but I actually kinda enjoyed it.
