Welcome to the Punch 2013

The British film industry does great things, this isn't one of them. The whole thing just felt like a tv drama . . .

Incredibly disappointing. Mcavoy's always brilliant, but in this case even he can't save this movie from sinking. As I tweeted last night,I wish there was a punch at the end, because overall the joke wasn't funny.

Pace feels a little off but it has things I like: Corruption in the force, revenge, good guy chasing bad guy, paranoia...

Predictable and very by the numbers.

James McAvoy and Mark Strong are great in this film, but the story is just not entertaining. Andrea Riseborough appears briefly and isn’t used much. Serviceable film but definitely not worth the watch.

90 minutes of McAvoy pretending to be cockney (I think..?) whilst shooting things. This is weak in every area.

Mcavoy and Strong are both brilliant actors, I enjoyed this film when I watched it, but on reflection is was not that great. This could have been excellent considering the cast. Shame missed opportunity, but not a total waste.

The usual cat and mouse typecast shinanigans, with treachery and glossy photography. A few interesting moments lifted this from below par to "alright mate" (add your best cockney accent here). Both The Sweeney and Safe House are much better alternatives.

waste of time and your life, move along.
