Waiting for Guffman 1996

From the people behind "this is spinal tap" comes this mockumentary exactly like "this is spinal tap". I didn't like that and i didn't like this. The only good part was the actual theater play. Not funny at all

Almost a perfect movie except for one glaring mistake: The epilogue takes place only 3 months after the production yet the life-changes of the characters were far too great to have only taken place over just 3 months. The epilogue needed be at LEAST 6 months later, but it may have been funnier if it were as much as 2 years later implying the (d/m)ocumentary crew tracked these people down after that long and the show had impacted their lives that much.
Other than than, I laugh to the point of tears every time I watch this film, but the 3 month post-show epilogue takes me out of it in the end.

I really didn’t find this movie as funny as maybe I should have but I did love Eugene Levy’s performance. He was funny.

There's a good reason not every movie is for everyone.

This is off the love-it-or-hate-it kind. I love Spinal Tap but I didn't even get a smile out of this one. Maybe it's the different topic, or the fact I am older now, I don't know. Christopher Guest sounds a bit like the old pedophile from Family Guy. The cast list is amazing but the whole thing never clicked with me.

Funny enough. Set in some bizarre town with strange people. The humour subtly points out the ridiculousness of many situations and human traits. In a town with little talent they still live the dream.
