I didn't understand this movie at all.
If you are susceptible to seizures from strobing or flashing lights then I recommend avoiding this film.
If this is your first Universal Soldier movie, don't be put off.
In many ways, I was disappointed to see van Damme and Lundgren in this. Apart from large sweaty men in crazy grunting fights, it bore little resemblance to the original.
But if you like hard to decipher plots (strange because there isn't much of a story line here), lots of poor lighting, flash backs and annoying music, all enhanced by completely unnecessary strobe lighting effects, this could be the movie for you.
Universal Soldier. Remake? Honestly. omg :(
If you like action movies then just ignore the "universal soldier" in title and you will enjoy this.
[+] good fighting scenes
[+/-?] maybe too much gore for its genre
[-] stroboscopes everywhere
[-] unfitting music
what does this have to do with Universal Soldier?
One of the best action movie of the decade! So underrated!
such an awesome movie. I wasn't expecting that at all.
I think we're being a bit too critical here... Complaining about acting in a JCVD movie... Complaining about the story in a series based on resurrected and cloned soldiers from vietnam... Complaining about the fact that Dolph Lungren is yelling in movies again in the same series after being tossed into a wood chipper. Let's talk about what really matters in these movies, action, blood & gore. A+ on all fronts minus story & acting. Reminded me a lot of the tone of Soldier with Kurt Russell. Plus it has one of the best baseball bat fight scenes i have ever seen. And Jesus great make up JCVD!
Not even the scene with Jean Claude Vandamme justifies watching this.. The entire movie makes no sense, so disappointing!
Maybe one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Worst 1 for sure. Makes no sense at all.
Nothing to do with Universal Solider program what so ever.
Totally waste of time. Just a blood bath movie with piss poor acting, which I expected, but I thought it would at least be Universal Solider and not just some random movie.
Ugh, what a let down.

I like that Scott Adkins is stepping up into the action star genre of films - that seems to be lost to digital artistry these days. It’s sad he gets such crappy screenplays. This whole film could have been better with a little better screenwriting.
JCVD pretty much phoned this one in. He should have included something from this movie in his Van Johnson series. There were some horrendous scenes that you need to just laugh at how bad they were.
