Two Distant Strangers 2020

Excellent depiction of what’s going on every day for black people in America. Visually dope and I appreciate it being a short. I love the end, his blood being shaped like the continent of Africa! I wonder how many peeped that!

This movie is a social commentary on the policing in American society and came out just last year during the protest for police reform.

I understand why a lot of people might think it’s exploitative and to be fair it is a bit too on the nose but I appreciate it just being a short rather than a whole movie.

It was a decent film that had the right idea but the execution was a bit of a miss.

sorry- i dont get it. maybe because i dont live in the us. and i dont get it why "white people should see it".
if, in the last scene, they drive together, they talk about their lives, find point they have in common - and then they shake hands, the black guy leaves and the policeman drives away... than you can say "message: just talk to each other and you will see, race doesnt matter, they are all the same". but now its just "white people are all bad. they lie and then they kill you. doesnt matter what you du and how nice you are". that is not the world i now. not where i live. but as i said... i dont live in the states, maybe its different there.

but if white should see that... maybe well, maybe black people should see "lakeview terrace" ??

History keeps repeating itself over and over and over. When will it ever stop? There is no answer to that question when it comes to police injustice and prejudice and that dilemma is effectively played here. Short but well done, with a final credit scene that reflects the message of the film.

Two Distant Strangers is a fine short film about police violence, but I feel it could have been done so much better. The fact that the white cop knew about the timeloop subtracted from the message in my opinion. The way it's written, it's basically just a murder case, not of systemic oppression of people of color.

Also, complete ripoff of Groundhog Day for a Black Man, go watch that instead. And listen to Joey Bada$$'s music, you'll learn more from his lyrics than from this film.

This is very symbolic, pay attention to the details. 100% worth your time watching (more than once), mostly if you are white. BEAUTIFUL production.

I went on this short-movie without watching the trailer, but I read the description and got intrigued even more when I saw Joey Bada$$'s name on the cast.

Maaan was I fooled by this movie... Not in a bad way, at all... I just thought he was finally going home to his dog, thinking to myself, This is bs, here they go again with the "communication solves everything" message. So glad that's not the case, and kept it real.

I like it how they didn't dwell on the time travel thing too much and kept as real as an un-real thing could possibly get.
I advise everyone to make a thorough watch on this powerfull work of art.

Felt like it needed a more complete ending, it was probably more meaningful this way or something but I would have liked to see him actually make his way out of that situation

Honestly I felt like I was kind of hoodwinked here.
The trailer made it seem like a ground hog day or russian doll type thing.
It wasn't until 15 minutes in that I was like OH its that type of movie.
It was ok but I think they should have been more upfront about having an agenda.

For 30mins long, this was very good and i wanted more also had a deep message that’s reality everyday, definitely worth your time and loved the ground hog effect.
