A cute animated film, Dog Gone Trouble is entertaining and delivers some fun laughs. When his rich owner dies, Trouble accidentally gets trapped in a moving truck and has to learn how to live on the streets after escaping and finding himself on his own. Featuring the voice talents of Lucy Hale, Olivia Holt, Damon Wayans Jr., and Snoop Dogg, the film has a solid cast that gives good performances. However, the plot is pretty formulaic and is full of topes; overly pampered pets, gold-digging relatives, etc. And a couple characters are overly cartoonish and silly. But for the most part the comedy works and there’s an earnestness to the message about friendship. While it has its problems, Dog Gone Trouble is a film that the whole family can enjoy.
