Trolls World Tour 2020

Some of the songs and dances are fun but otherwise it is totally forgettable.

It was a pretty lame movie

Trolls: World Tour is an ok movie. It’s not good but not bad. The different music in the movie is fun and the dance/singing scenes are fun too. The plot is ok it’s generic and the ending is exactly how you think it will turn out. The voice acting is great and the animation is pretty good. A few of my problems are that I feel the sub plots feel like they are built up in the first and second act but then let go and forgotten by the third act. Overall it’s ok movie and a pretty good family movie that’s pretty forgettable.

( 5 out of 10)

So, my kids and I BOTH like the original film. Good characters, good plot progression, good music, good development of said characters...but they really capitalized on the music in the sequel. They made it the plot, and in doing so, they watered the plot down, they replaced the Bergens with other villains that aren't as interesting, the casting wasn't what it could've easily been. Just found this one boring...idk.

Opening scene: the young queen of heavy metal is a fascist and wants to destroy the world. As a fan of hard rock / heavy metal, I say fuck this message and fuck this film.

Sure, the movie preaches tolerance and acceptance, and I might've been able to get past the conservative message that pop is good and metal is bad, but the poor cover band versions of all the songs made me feel like I was watching shitty but pretty YouTubers.

I think the movie did very well for a toy-brand cartoon.

I love the world the creators made for trolls! It's a huge development from the 1st movie

Unoriginal, predictable but solid plot. I have some questions about it, but since the movie is just a product of it's time that is meant to be consumed by a much younger audience, i don't think it would be relevant to bring those up :P

Visually it was an eye candy with its creative hand-made stylization, i just loved looking at it!

Nice messages, funny gags, didn't care for unoriginal soundtrack as it worked and didn't feel out of place most of the time.
Despite all it's subtle dull nature (mostly because of the story) the movie gave me positive emotions and energy.

This franchise has a potential to be a nice and fun way to get little kids interested in different music styles.
I won't mind a few animated shorts with more music gags. :heart_decoration:

Like having your head stuck in a glitter ball for ninety minutes while a rainbow is inserted in your every orifice. Barely tolerable and mostly annoying.

I can't believe this movie made history by becoming the first movie originally meant to hit cinemas, but went straight to VOD due to COVID.

Crazy times indeed.

The movie itself isn't anything note worthy to talk about. It's literally one big karaoke-like music video of different songs.

The message is actually really good. I do like most kind of music but there are always be some certain genre elitists which can be super annoying. It's just the delivery of the message just didn't hit right. They put too much sugar coating to deliver making it super basic and cheesy family movie, introduced too many groups which I think some of them weren't necessary (without having decent character building), and heavily rely to the music somehow overshadowing what they wanted to deliver.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love the music, I love the sounds, I love the characters, I love the voice actors, I love the jokes. Rachel Bloom? Justin Timberlake? Kelly Clarkson? So many more? I mean...come on!

Most of all, this movie is an audiovisual spectacular. It's an absolute treat and is one of the best ways to demonstrate the differences between Ultra-HD Blu-ray movies and streaming movies.

Watch this one on the highest quality A/V system you can.

Anna Kendrick does an excellent job and Justin Timberlake provides a likeable side character. The animation is by far the crown jewel of this movie and the music is decent, even if it doesn't quite ever leave the realm of pop, hip-hop, and rock. Ironically, they diss disco at one point which is funny considering the message of the movie. Worth a watch! Totally meant for kids but enjoyable enough for bored teenagers such as my siblings.

The music was sound, the humour was alright but not as good as the first that was more colourful. Music is powerful.

Anyone else watch this solely because the McElroys are in it

I was VERY excited for this movie, maybe more excited than my two year old  Unfortunately I felt a bit let down.
The overall message of the movie was great in my opinion, the animation was cute, the songs were catchy with some great throwbacks that will make you smile (or groan hahaha) and there were some decent jokes.
I felt like it had great potential but just fell a bit flat. At the end of the movie I was left wanting more even though there had been a solution to the problem.
Ultimately I think it’s a cute movie but the first one still holds the top spot for me.

Trolls: World Tour has Poppy (Anna Kendrick) learning that there’s more Trolls. Each tribe represent Rock, Pop, Country, Jazz and etc. Rock wants to make every tribe Rock and Poppy sets out to stop her.
It’s weird the Bergen’s who were a huge part of the plot for the first film. Aren’t in this film or even mentioned.
The soundtrack might even better than the first movie. With hit songs from every genre. Story wise though it is mostly about diversity and everyone getting along.
Originality wise, it feels like Smurfs the Lost Village with Trolls and a lot of singing. Kids should enjoy it. Grownups will either enjoy it or find the film too noisy throughout.
