The Usual Suspects 1995

A film that rewards on repeat viewings, this has great performances from everyone, in particular Byrne and Spacey, and a script that is brilliantly constructed. It may well be more remembered for its final resolution which works well no matter how many times the film is dissected, but the dynamics between the "suspects" are fun to watch, with each of them bringing a distinct persona to the film that is memorable. John Ottman's score is also wonderfully atmospheric. A modern classic

Watched it after having it for a few years but never taking the time. A slow and cryptic 90's action mystery with little to care about until the twist-ending reveals itself. But by that time, it's already over. Eh, too bad.

After some prodding from a friend, halfway through I guessed the ending, but I think maybe they wanted you to be able to guess the ending so I still enjoyed it. A bit stagey, but with enough poise and setup so you want to see the end.

I swear I can put this movie on repeat and watch it as if I don't even know the ending already. Love this movie!!!

THE USUAL SUSPECTS has a skilled director, an engrossing screenplay, and ten praiseworthy performances. The film runs a fast 105 minutes. Don't miss a minute of it.

If you're a die hard crime genre fan, you'll love this movie! Else, skip, you'll just be confused by all the names.

This is not a movie. It's a film. A great modern noir. (And there's new stuff to notice each rewatch...like the last time I watched it and realized Kobayashi is Keyser Soze!)

This film is absolutely amazing.. I hold It close to my soul and not because of Kevin Spacey and Benicia del Toro are involved with a Baldwin brother... Because my late best friend first shower me this movie, and he has since passed away a few years after showing me and years ago.

He introduced it to me as a film that would "fuck my mind". The fact that countless shows have referenced this film in one way or another.... Not to mention it totally fucked my mind!

If you like plots where there are so many twist, its like watching a freshly rolled spliff, you need to watch this one. If you're over the age of 30 and haven't watched this film, SHAME ON YOU!!!

You'll quickly add this film to your all time favorites ave you too will pass it down to your close ones. I saw this originally in 2001-2002. Just finished watching it tonight for the "who knows how many times" this made. Hope you enjoy it as much as I

Great movie, I was shocked at the reveal that Keaton supposedly was Keyser Soze, because I thought it was either the cripple (Verbal), or the lawyer (the woman, Edie Finneran)!

loading replies

The greatest trick that Kevin Spacey ever pulled was convincing the world he was only acting.

Personal note : a classic probably

you have to rewatch the film to really get the details

My first time watching is this time. Of course, this is a legendary, extraordinary, and "unusual" movie, though I knew the secret about the suspect:laughing:

loading replies

I knew it was the cripple the whole time but they threw me off with the Keaton stuff but then it came back around again. Decent movie. Pretty predictable but I like the actors so it's a fun watch.

loading replies

As brilliant as the acting was, the ending is hardly convincing.

The Usual Suspects is a sharply written, well acted thriller. Each character is given just enough info to keep them interesting without distracting from the plot or slowing down the pace. The non linear narrative keeps the audience on their toes causing them to rethink how things will play out with each tiny reveal. This film is simultaneously simple yet complex which is a difficult feat to pull off but this film does it beautifully.

A personal note: This was my first time watching this film, but I unfortunately knew the twist ending going in. That being said, knowing the ending made this feel more like a second viewing because I was looking for hints and nods towards said ending and the film was just as gripping had I not known the ending. This is a film I look forward to giving repeat viewings to in an effort to find more subtle trinkets of information.

The Usual Suspects (1995)

Dave Kujan: Do you believe in him, Verbal?

Verbal: Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze.
I watched the movie again after 25 years. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first time, maybe due to the spoiled ending. However, I still totally recommend it.

An excellent film, even though we know the ending due to spoilers, it still manages to entertain with its interesting events throughout the plot.

loading replies

At first it's chaos and it's hard to follow the plot, but then it's obvious who the devil is.

The Usual Suspects is an intelligent crime drama that asks a lot of its audience. The plot is congested but the characters and dialog are engaging. The cast is perfect and elevates a story that must be revisited to be fully appreciated.

a straight up f*cking horrible waste of time, the fact that this movie has seen the light of day was a mistake

The film "Usual Suspects", directed by Bryan Singer in 1995, is one of the most popular and acclaimed films in the crime and mystery genre. This movie tells the story of a group of professional criminals who are after a big robbery.

Among the main characteristics of this film is the writing of arrest warrants and showing the story in a non-linear way. The story is told from the point of view of one of the characters in the film, which was excellently acted by Kevin Spacey. This character named "Verbal Kent" works with a federal detective named "David Quinn" to investigate a series of mysterious events.

Throughout the film, the story is told through Verbal's notes and memories, and during it, Kesey, one of the gang's villains, is believed to be responsible for all the crimes. But at the end of the film, with the revelation of a secret, the audience's perceptions and mental image change and it seems that Verbal was, in fact, responsible for all the crimes.

Starring Gabriel Byrne, Benicio Del Toro, Kevin Pollock, Stephen Baldwin and Isra Almeri, this film is globally recognized and considered one of the best films of the 90s.

Amazing film! Because of the amazing performances, the minutes fly by. Spacey is especially awesome. Sure, the big twist is not completely unexpected, but it’s still told in such a good way. Really enjoyed it.

One of the greatest films of the '90s with the most classic of twists .

If you are familiar with movie gimmicks, it won't take long to guess how this unreliable narrator crime thriller will play out. Although I hoped they would explore all the gang members equally instead of focusing only on the main two, the movie is well constructed overall and definitely worth a watch. The pacing is a little slow initially but picks up around the middle.

One of my favorite movies ever. The story is amazing and is very well paced, it had me interested the whole time. The acting is fantastic from every character especially from Kevin spacey and Stephen Baldwin. It is one of the best written movies ever and the cinematography is pretty good too. The best part of this movie is the ending, it has to have one of the best twists ever I dropped my jaw and was very surprised a couple times. Overall it’s a classic movie and an amazing gánster movie with the classic evil mastermind.

Great movie with one of the best endings inarguably, though part of it was destroyed since I kind of guessed it early in the movie. Still a lot of fun to watch and I watch it again and again.

Impresionante !!!
