Cassandra Peterson played the spunky goth Elvira hosting "Elvira's Movie Macabre," a late-night B-movie show running from 1981-86 with a couple sporadic revivals. Her bubbly wit serves the perfect counterpoint to campy horror gore, making her an unforgettable part of horror culture.

I have limited this list to the late '60's to the early '80's.
