Sucked... Shias character was a joke and WTF his name is Creeper!!! Really, so he’s a pervert who stares at people or a killer? Just a stupid waste of his time to make this and mine to watch it.
I feel bad that Shia LaBeouf tatted up his entire upper body for THIS. David Ayer can stick his shitty Suicide Squad cut up his arse.

The Women look good, that’s all I got.
Only made it halfway through and skimmed the rest. Man this was bad. Shia’s character could have been so good. Plenty of potential here, but after Narcos, this was like an after school special of a bunch of posers acting all hard. Most of the characters reminded me of all the teens that live in my white, upper-class neighborhood who listen to Drake, swear and ‘hoop’ like their ballers.
30M for this? Really? So bad! Bad plot, bad music, bad characters, bad effects... And Shia... Worst psychopath gangster ever!
It got screwed up, could have been something, but it just crashed. Didn't have the chance to see Creeper unleashed.
The film itself wasn't that good, but Shia LaBeouf's character was entertaining in a bad way. I spent the whole movie debating in my head whether or not if it's offensive that he's playing a Mexican street-caricature
So Shia, you killed stray dogs in preparation for this movie in order to get into the mind of a murder? You also tattooed your chest, which is real by the way, for the role.
Was it worth it? Nah, I don't think so.
'The Tax Collector' is hot trash fire. Such a boring movie with no characters to attach yourself to. A very obnoxiousness movie as well.
David Ayer is a hack fraud of a director. I've lost all faith in him to make anything decent again. Any new movie he releases in the future, am not interested.
Wasted my 95 minutes of life. Ayer sucks a:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol: !!!!
So bad that it's good
This seems like it could have been better. It has some interesting ideas. But really, the blood and violence... a lot of it seemed pretty gratuitous. More along the lines of, "oh, I'll show them something they haven't seen on TV before" than "oh, this will be good for the story.
...it was a bit of alright to see Shia get stomped. He was more than a little over the top.
Unlikable characters, unlikable violence, an unlikable movie. Not smart, pretty dull, and about as welcome as your yearly tax returns.
Not a great movie but not bad either. The plot is the same as any other drug war movie but I felt the acting was pretty convincing. If you don't have anything else on your list of movies to watch this is a good one to fill some time.
This movie got dumber as it progressed. What a waste.
For me, this movie was boring for the genre.
Also, found too many WTF scenes and “why is/are he/they doing that?” moments.
Wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.
its just a... really bad movie.
characters are shallow.
story is LOL.
ending is tragicomedy. moments before ending, enemy gang has like a dozens of their members. at the end they have exactly 3 members. and in meantime there wasnt any "war" or shootout. like WTF
3/10 - and thats even too much
The story line and the actors in this movies are pretty decent apart from shia who is working the character too much and comes out less scary than it should have been. overall great thrilling movie with lots of action. They could have focus a bit more on the beautiful latinas everywhere.
This show is worth watching.
Terrible and a waste of time. They didn't even shown full screen time of Shia LaBeouf which I thought he was going to be the main character in this film. But turns out to be a waste and used the other character into his weak performance.
So this movie is so bad that I don't even know how I was able to play it. His extremely bad story, especially the action, has some sad scenes and some extremely violent ones. The action in this movie doesn't really exist because, they just go and collect the taxes, but otherwise in the end it's a bit of action.
This movie is baffling in so many ways, David Ayer makes a parody of a David Ayer film, except he decided to really amp up the dull factor. I’m not sure if it was due to the budget or the nature of a direct to VOD film but it was just missing something to give it that extra edge. At one point it seems like they are going to lean into some dark, mystical arts and that would have put it over the top, it’s kind of exactly what this film needs but unfortunately never comes to fruition. All we get is once scene of a sacrificial ritual with a lady painted like the wall (Yes, this is real). This movie is all over the place and during the climactic fight our hero is flashing back to that once scene earlier in the film where we learn he takes Tae Kwon Do classes and you think he’s gotta bust out a sweet hold or UFC mode but no, he just lands a punch to the neck?! I’m telling you, this film is baffling but in a boring type of way and the ending “reveal” is fucking laughable. Tell me Shia really got full body tattoos for this movie and you never once see them in the film. Baffling!
I do not get it! I don't understand how this movie can be so bad. Sometimes it seemed to me like I was watching Steven Seagal's latest movies. I love David Ayer's movies. I'm definitely not on the wave "his movies are bad", quite the opposite. And that's why I say again that I don't understand how someone who has made such great films as End of Watch, Fury, Bright or Street Kings will make something like that. It looks like a side project for very little money. Big disappointment :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
This movie is just so boring.
OK. The only reason why I watched this movie, was because Shia Lebeouf is in it. Other wise, I wouldn't watch it because of the strong stereotype of Mexicans. They're all not drug dealers. Watching this movie kind of reminded me why I didn't watch most Black 80s movies for the same thing. Every Black movie was made in the fashion of "Boyz In The Hood." It gets tiring after a while. However, setting aside the obvious exploitation of Mexican stereotypes, the movie was VERY GOOD!! Lots of action, and lots of suspense! Although I should warn you, I didn't like the fact that Lebeouf died at the end. I really thought he was going to be the badass of the movie. Turns out I get really freakin' disappointed! Fuck!! But, despite that disappointment, I felt this movie is well worth the watch!! And OMG! I didn't realize how good looking Bobby Soto was in this movie!! Holly cow!!!! Unfortunately, with these kinds of movies, you already know there will be causalities and sad endings, but again, the action is totally worth it. You will be at the edge of your seat. Oh yeah, let me forewarn you, the movie is incredibly violent, and the women....... Don't be fooled by their beauty, they're vicious too!!! This will be my third recommended movie so far!!! Enjoy!!!!
This is just a cliche fiesta.. stay away.

I have very low tolerance for incompetent people that think way too highly of themselves.
So, forgive me for being over the top vitriolic here, but can we get rid of David Ayer before I have to see any more of his abysmal work?
