Well made film with spectacular battle sequences. This true story is shocking and sad.
If you want lots of action in a war movie, you will love this movie because 80% of it is WAR! Definitely is in my top 5 of the best movies.
Apart from all the action, this true story is shocking and sad, this guys should have had more recognition at the time. The phrase "Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die" fits perfectly in this movie.
Quinlan was a man among men. It is unfortunate that the A company were thrown under the bus in order to cover up U.N. blunders by top brass. Quinlan's tactics and use of perimeter defense is now included in military strategy textbooks worldwide.
Very good movie that tells a story that is deserving to be told. Really worth your time.

That might actually be the best Netflix movie to date. Realistic work which shows a chapter of largely forgotten Irish military and UN history, kudos.
Year 1961, in Congo. Jadotville tells the true story of Commander Patrick Quinlan and his battalion of 150 UN Irish soldiers, besieged by 3,000 Congolese soldiers under the command of French and Belgian mercenaries working for mining companies.

A really simple and nice Netflix movie. The fight scenes, and there a lot of then, are great! The end credits song deserves to be listened ^^.

Positives:
I'm a sucker for a good True Story and this delivers. This film delivers on the fact that it makes you feel like you are claustrophobic in a war environment. The script was surprisingly fairly strong and I was not expecting that. The acting was strong and this is one of the better films on Netflix. I loved the tension between the characters as it progresses through the story. Plus, the sound effects were great.
Negatives:
Some of the CGI isn't the greatest and when you have an intense scene and you have a plane fly over that the CGI isn't great then it kinda takes away from the intense scene. Sometimes it was a bit hard to understand what the characters were saying because they had such strong Irish accents. Some of the intense scenes when people were yelling were a bit cheesy at some points.
Overall:
This is a great film and I definitely recommend you give it a chance if you haven't already. This is a hidden gem in the Netflix Original Film catalog. Jamie Dornan did a great job in this film. This was my 2nd time watching this film and I thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the 1st time watching it.

Good movie from Netflix. Never heard this story, it’s a sad but also beautiful story.
After this movie I hate politicians even more then I already did, disgusting people it are.
But yes it’s still a Netflix movie like all others with many flaws…
-battle field in the desert, everyone is covered with dust and that 1 guy with glasses has always perfectly clean glasses. My dad was jealous of the perfectly clean glasses.
-how the fuck did they poison their water?! (Read somewhere that in real life the water was cut of and the compound was way bigger)
-they were in prison for a month but when they game out it looked liked they were in a hotel for the past month, clean, shaven beards…
Always the same little annoying things in Netflix movies.
However, still a great movie that’s worth watching for the story alone!

First off, great movie ! Not that overdrawn Hollywood stuff. Much more realistic. Really pulled me in and the fighting felt very tense.
As for the story I have to admit I hadn't known it before. Doesn't surprise me one bit though. But it's good to see that those things come to light at last and the soldiers get the recognition they deserve. One of the sad truth of life. Too many things have happened, and are still happening, we don't know about.
Fu**ing politicians always come out on top. Always have been, Always will be.
