this is filmed horrible.... black half the time can't see anything. turned off at 30min. won't do again.
Surprisingly decent horror flick. It's no classic but it is well made and acted.
Turned it off after 30 min. So boring
That was a lot of fun! Don't let that awful poster fool you. The Retreat is a solid queer horror thriller packed with great suspense. It's short and tightly paced. The story is quite simple, a gay female couple is invited to a cabin in the middle of nowhere by their friends who's a married gay male couple. Instead of having fun they're being watched and hunted by the locals. The two female leads are fantastic. I like their delivery, I was rooting for them! The kills are violent enough. For a low budget, the production is surprisingly good and I love the cinematography. My issue with this film is most of the night scenes are poorly lit. I had trouble seeing what's going on because it's too dark. I can't tell if it's just another how-well-can-you-see-in-the-dark technique or they cut the lighting budget. All in all, it's fun and thrilling, I enjoyed it immensely.
It gets an extra star for being gay
Could be decent but we can't see a thing for like half the movie
