The Monster 2016

Good acting in a pretty mediocre monster movie. It's not bad, but I didn't think it was that scary after the constant buildup takes too much time and kinda bored me. The story is bittersweet but it lost interest to me after 1 hour or so...

Just an ok movie. One of those that you won't ever watch again in future, but useful if you have nothing else to watch or if you just wanna TV in background while doing something else.

The little girl is a good actress, put her in a Stranger Things like TV show and she'll be famous.

Offers a talented child actress and strong emotional moments. Sadly it also offers horror like a 80's movie.

Allegory. I got it. Broken family with alcoholism and drug abuse as threat. Broken car with vicious monster as threat.

Not since viewing Gareth Edwards's 2010 "Monsters" have I felt so whacked over the head with the obvious stick.

I'm giving it an extra couple of points for the actual beast. You know, the monster that attacks the car. Then subtracting a point for the annoying characters. The acting is good, I just don't want to know people like them.

It was really well made, but this is more family drama than horror, and not in an interesting way. I was bored for most of the movie. They just dragggggged out a very stereotypical (albeit relatable) family conflict story, and by overdoing it they made it annoying rather than emotionally driven. It kind of reminded me of The Babadook in that respect. I just wanted them to stop talking about their problems and show me some real horror!

This would have been way better as a drama.

Actresses deserved better than this. I would’ve preferred Scott Speedman’s character as the villain, instead of a badly designed creature.

I was highly impressed with this one. I was searching for a good old fashioned monster movie and found a little drama wrapped neatly within.

There are two monsters in this movie; the one on the outside, but perhaps more scarily of all, the monster that lurks inside our most hateful emotions. A decent film, nothing groundbreaking, but with a more thoughtful approach than most.

I really liked the creepy atmosphere in this film: The rain on the lonely, deserted road in the woods was very melancholy.
The movie itself combined good acting and interesting story that kept me on the edge of the seat. It was a B Movie but very solid!

Stupid!! Why is it that horror movies have gotten so unrealistic.

That little girl played that part. They both did. Kinda slow but enjoyed it.
