The Lion King 1994

Disney brings a sensational and prideful story to fruition. Lion King is masterfully executed with its brilliance in CGI, story and dialogue. It's a fantastic film for all ages and continues to roam on as one of Disney's greatest.

23 years later and Mufasa's death scene still brings tears to my eyes. What a masterpiece!

Greatest cartoon movie ever! :D

Still my favorite movie, after all these years. :)

the theme's song that you never forget and the favorite's character in Disney's animation.

If you don't rate this movie with a 10 then you're definitely wrong. Best Disney movie ever!

loading replies

I like the part when Timon said the bug tasted like chicken. Haha how would he know? The rest of the movie was pretty good too.

loading replies

Never seen this movie before, can you believe that? Why did I rate it 6? Well, most who rated it high have done so because it's a childhood movie for them, and when you're a kid, you overlook all the bad things about movies. But since I'm close to 30, I couldn't overlook the plotholes.

A Disney classic. Must see.

Had to watch this to remind myself that Disney could make good movies lol.

Pretty much the king of the '90s Disney resurgence, and a great example of the studio's strengths. It's a very familiar story - basically Hamlet with singing animals - but they really make it their own through charm, whimsey and simple, effective characterization. The animation is excellent, too, silky smooth and grounded in reality but also expressive, colorful and often downright stunning.

Musicals aren't usually my thing, though, and once or twice it felt like the tunes were being crammed into a scene when they really weren't necessary. Still, it's a vibrant, attention-demanding classic that held my kids' hearts from start to finish and authentically embraced an under-appreciated culture. Deservedly one of animation's upper tier titles, it was really cool to share it with a new generation.

Watched with the youngest. She's seen this many times, though it was the first time I'd sat and watched the whole thing in well over a decade. Such a great story.

This movie has to be the best Disney animation movie,I remember seeing this back in 1994 at the cinema and still brings chills, excitement and tears to me every time I watch it..
Looks amazing in 4K
Will never watch the remake, bad choice in the Actor's and singer's especially..
Even Elton John wasn't happy with the remake,he should of done the music Again and had more input in the remake but alas they didn't bother with his help,no wonder why it was a disaster, only reason why the sales were high was because of all the fans of the original went to see the remake and a lot were not happy with it,a very unemotional version compared to this amazing movie....

I ain't gonna lie. This movie made me cry back in the day.

I enjoy the film, however I think it is very overrated in relation to other Disney films.

I bought this on 4K Blu-ray and it looks amazing, the colour just look amazing, this is the best version of The Lion King, beautifully made, perfect choice of Actor's and Actresses in every role and with Elton John songs you can't go wrong, much better than the remake that's for sure.....

This was one of my most watched movies as a kid. I was three when it came out and it was my first traumatic experience with Mufasa's death. It still gets to me today. Everything about this movie works; story, art direction, music. Every song is fantastic and perfect for sing-alongs. This is the best of the Disney renaissance maybe even the best Disney animated movie. I'm interested in seeing the live action version but there is no way it can be as good as the original.

If I only got a dollar for every time I saw this movie as a kid. Thats how much I loved it!

Still one of the best Disney films.

An epic coming-of-age story with lots of drama in the father-son and newfound-love areas, lots of scary moments from the bad guys, lots of comedy thanks to the Timon and Pumba characters and a great atmosphere thanks to great use of the natural world and the circle of life analogy. To make it even better, the drawings still look great after 20 years and some of the songs are amazing.

After seeing this again in a long time and absolutely loving it, I hope Disney can get back to this near perfect level of their early 90's animations. With movies like Princess and the Frog and Tangled they are definitely back on their way. Can't wait for more!

I didn't love this movie as much as others, but I still recognize it's a solid film. The pacing is fantastic in this.

Never watched this movie before. It's quite good. Innocuous family entertainment. Classic Disney that follows the classic plot of such movies. It's not like this story is uber-complex or even remotely innovative. Remember: i's for kids. But the story has a lot of serious and dark undertones that make it enjoyable for adults too.

Images and animations are beautiful and some scenes are iconic. Even I know that although I've never this movie before.

I wasn't prepared for all the music though. It's almost like opera. I thought the IRL musical was an entirely different thing and only loosely based on the movie. I generally don't like musicals (never went to the Lion King musical either) But in this movie, all the singing is not annoying. It makes this movie special. Especially sounds that are inspired by African music and languages are quite entertaining. (No wonder: Elton is a legend for a reason).

Note to future self: never watch an iconic Disney movie you subconsciously remember in English again. It's not the language I grew up with and it sounded incredible wrong. The songs in English messed up my brain.

This was always a huge hole for me so I decided to finally watch it. It was good! Amazingly beautiful. However the pacing was super fast, it almost felt abridged. Was it as good as my favorite Pixar or Disney? Well... no. But it's up there. It's very good and I'm glad I finally saw it.

Great movie, great story and great storytelling.

Another childhood classic that they just had to remake a new one and for what? I don't think there's any mishaps in the storyline since it's very well thought out. Not bad for a older film eh?
