how typical... the lesbian falls in love with a man.
Beautiful movie about an adult relationship that oozes authenticity. Lisa Cholodenko (hooray!) coaxes some brilliant performances from Moore, Bening, and Wasikowska. I love this movie for the brilliance of its very small moments–a look, a touch, a comment–that communicate a wealth of emotional authenticity.
I'm not sure how I feel about this movie, so I won't give it a number rating.
On one hand, I think it's a great drama, on the other hand, I can't help but feel bad for Paul. He was nice to everyone and was treated like shit by Nic, Nic treats everyone like shit, and then is mad when Jules looks for validation. No offense to Annette Bening as I think she is a great actress; I just can't stand her character for being so pompous.
How is this simple, beautiful movie so lowly rated?
I could rated it lower but it's mainly Ruffalo who saved it again and the rest of the cast..I just couldn't get into this movie i felt like it wasn't well excecuted as it expected to be..Give it a try but don't have high expectations.6.5/10!
I gotta say ever since hunger games I've been obsessed with Josh Hutcherson and he's one of the reasons why I'm watching this movie. But overall it was very unexpectedly beautiful and the kind of movie where you sit back relax and take it all in. Reminded of this movie called The way way back tbh idk why. worth a watch

How Annette Benning didn't win Best Actress is beyond me.
