A nice break from Hentai
I still think this is my favorite Pixar movie. It holds up so well, and it just delivers such solid family fun with some genuine laughs and actual impressive action sequences.
How is it Pixar able to get a Fantastic Four movie done soo perfectly, but Marvel can't...?
The standard-bearer of excellence for the Pixar animation house, The Incredibles has aged well in the seven years since its release, and it should come as no surprise. With a clever, all-ages sense of humor, a masterfully paced storyline, wonderfully rounded characters and genuinely perfect voice acting, the filmmakers have left little cause for concern.
Spotted throughout with nods, winks and nudges of all shapes and sizes for the dedicated comic book fans that are bound to be in the audience, the plot also remains easily-accessible for those who haven’t so much as laid eyes a funny book. On top of that, its excellent sense of timing and regular ability to one-up itself is more than enough to ensure that no eyeballs wander far from the center of the screen. The perfect family film, it's also something I have no shame about watching repeatedly by my lonesome.
I've gotta say. This is the best Pixar film to date. For visuals I give it only a 7/10 but maybe that's just me being snobby because I'm into 3D rendering and this was made in the early 2000's. But for overall story and viewing experience, 10/10. It was funny, exciting, emotionally engaging, and in general had the right amount of everything.
"Honey, where's my super suit?"
The best fantastic four movie out there. One of Pixar's best movies and holds up very well. It's still a blast to watch. I love all the real family drama and real problems they have. All the action is great. Edna is a great character. I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
Stop Right Now Or You're Fired
The Incredibles is beautifully made. It's heady mix of good looks, sharp whit and heart of gold mean you can't fail to fall for it's charms. The futuristic nostalgia grabs the attention throughout.
The slightly disappointing third act stops this being an absolute classic, but this is an extremely good film.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. I still remember where I was the first time I saw it!
3 Thoughts After Re-Watching ‘The Incredibles’:
A Pixar classic. Plenty of action and humor for adults and kids alike.
I love Holly Hunter’s voice. So distinct and perfect for Mrs. Incredible.
Never enough Edna Mode.
I've wanted this movie for years because it's just fantastic from beginning to end... But I've never seen it (or any other Disney/Pixar) for less than 19.96!!!!
**** A phenomenal animated film that has often flown under the radar...****
For years I was told that I had to see this film and I just never seemed motivated to do so. It was during the covid-19 quarantine... Finally, I got around to it and I immediately felt this film was a little different than the fare that we were seeing at the time.
It was a little edgier in some way. I was instantly hooked, I loved it.
This is a film about super heroes being forced into retirement because of a shift in public opinion. Some of the superheroes are having a hard time with their new reality. One super hero in particular (Mr.Fantastic) finds himself jumping at the chance to get back into action when called upon by a secretive source claiming a need for his services. This turns out to be a ploy to enact revenge against Mr.Fantastic. As it turns out, Mr.Fantastic's family, all of whom have super powers themselves, launches a rescue operation that evolves into a pretty wild ride.
This movie is witty, funny, edgy and fun.
The inclusion of an entire super power endowed family is a cool little aspect of this story. The actors and actress all put in fantastic voice work and the result is simply an amazing movie that has a huge cult following but never seemed to get the credit that many feel it deserves.
My Score 8/10.
An incredible (pun intended) action packed and humorous movies that still holds up.
And after all. I am your Number 1 fan.
Touching and exciting, the best "Fantastic Four" adaptation ever made.
Wonderful, beautiful to watch, all in all, incredible.
I found parts of this movie extremely disturbing when it first came out. All these years later, I still can see why. An intriguing tone for a kids' movie, but I'm still not sure how well it works. If this movie ever gets a sequel, I'd be interested to see if the mood of the film changes. Still, a deeply entertaining piece of children's fiction.
Loved it.
Best.
An absolutely flawless, mature family drama. It genuinely feels like it was written for adults first and kids were kind of an afterthought. Animation as a medium rarely gets better than this.
Lucius: Honey?
Honey: What?
Lucius: Where's my super suit?
Honey: What?
Lucius: Where - is - my - super - suit?
Honey: I, uh, put it away.
[helicopter explodes outside]
Lucius: Where?
Honey: Why do you need to know?
Lucius: I need it!
[Lucius rummages through another room in his condo]
Honey: Uh-uh! Don't you think about running off doing no daring-do. We've been planning this dinner for two months!
Lucius: The public is in danger!
Honey: My evening's in… more
My average rating 9.2 out of 10.
Probably the best superhero film ever made
The Five Faces of THE INCREDIBLES
One of the great classics in superhero cinema - immensely entertaining, fast-paced, funny and touching. A great combination of superhero team play and struggling family life.
The animation is smooth, beautiful and vivid. It was top notch back in the day and doesn't look too bad today either.
Clearly inspired by the Fantastic Four, Pixar's superhero team film manages to combine superhero and family life a whole lot better than earlier and later attempts have.
By the time the new team forms the audience feels for Bob's unhappy life with a family and a shitty job and Helen's worries that Bob will return to his old ways.
The Incredibles also features one of the most original and memorable supervillains ever created, even if his backstory and motives are nothing new.
The heroic film score feels like something from a classic superhero film.
All members of the Parr family are allowed to shine and utilize their powers in creative ways. They do fine alone and even better as a team.
Edna Mode is one of Pixar's most annoying and memorable characters. She is perfectly voiced by writer-director Brad Bird.
Even if the film isn't wholly original in its genre it is creative in its way of handling the genre tropes.
Bob is the perfect, middle-aged hero and Helen the caring mother. The children prove to be important assets for their family and superhero lives. Dash is excited about everything and Violet is in her teenage phase with all its struggles. All characters are perfectly brought to life by respective actor.
The children master their powers like hard core superheroes in no time. There's no real struggle.
In some of the detailing and more action heavy scenes you notice how aged the animation is.
Frozone is an interesting supporting character who could have been used more, if only to hear Samuel L. Jackson's amazing voice work.
Technically, Syndrome himself isn't much of a threat and never faces the heroes himself as the family mostly fights his robots.

The Final Face:  // Good
A great Pixar movie with relatable characters and some extremely funny moments. Edna Mode is the best!
Quite funny animated movie about a family of super heroes. Better than expected, but I like the original Shrek movie or the first part of the Madagascar series better!
Incredible. The action, dialogue, animation, developments, plot, world building, editing, themes, score, characters, comedy, emotion, design, screentime, and everything in between. Hands down THE Pixar family. This was probably the first ever pixar movie that left a mark in my mind. The older I grew, the better the memory became. I love how the whole family can watch this. It fits any age and every dynamic. The smooth build-up takes you away till before you know it, you're in rapid fire action, glazed with spectacular visuals, pumped music, and head spinning one liners.
Maybe top 3 Pixar movies. I'd forgotten how good it is! The animation and effects are starting to look really good, and the movie never lets you get bored.
I really enjoy watching this, not one of the best, though.
Brad Bird voiced Edna "E" Mode, but I always want to think it's Linda Hunt who plays that part (or that it's supposed to look like her).
Such a classic movie -- wish there were ten sequels.
ps: Brad Bird also wrote and directed both movies!
"The Incredibles" is a movie about superheroes trying to live the lives of ordinary people, but this time the concept is well-executed, not halfway as is often the case.
Set in a time when superheroes are real, living hidden among the crowd, and saving the day like they provide a public service. Over time, due to collateral damage and civilians annoyed by the mess the supers made in the city, the government decided to shut them down. (In just twenty minutes, the movie did what "Civil War" couldn't.) The main story takes place fifteen years later.
Bob Parr, Mr. Incredible to his friends, a married super with a family, misses his glory days when he was a superhero and considered exceptional by the public. He lives a normal life with a job he hates, and the burnout and lack of interest in his work keep him from connecting with his family. It's not until he receives a secret message about a machine causing havoc on an island that he can return to superhero action, but without his wife, Helen Parr, or Elastigirl, finding out.
The new superhero activity suits Bob well. He rediscovers himself, starts exercising, his desire for his wife returns, and he connects more with his children. But his happiness won't last, as in the midst of all this, a plot of mysterious superhero deaths and Helen's doubts about what her husband is doing when he goes to "work" will be waiting for him at the end of the tunnel.
The film explores the dynamics of a not-so-normal family that wants to be normal, and the situations that arise from that are very interesting to watch. The attempt at normalcy makes the characters deeply relatable: the whole family feels like a normal family trying to navigate their lives with superpowers; each of them has characteristics that differentiate them greatly and contribute to the development of conflicts in the plot. It's impossible not to love them.
The cinematography, use of colors, and composition are beautiful. The clean style reminds me a lot of Dune for some reason. On the other hand, the jazz musical composition is so good that I could listen to the pieces from the film every day and in any context.
The only thing I would criticize about the movie is that the emotional catharsis at the end doesn't do justice to the entire build-up. What is the final evolution of the characters? What do they learn and in what ways do they change? Yes, the kids learn to accept their superpowers, and the family becomes a more united superhero family fighting against evil, but what about the marriage? There is distrust, deception, vulnerability, but I didn't see as strong a change as I expected. The ending almost feels like just another event in Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl's catalog, as the development is very smooth and almost nonexistent. Also, the acceptance of their powers at the end seems more like a positive consequence from society after they defeat the Omnidroid.
There are many things that feel underexplored and should have had a more significant impact on the viewer. "Toy Story" manages to strongly impact due to the catharsis of its characters' conflicts, "The Incredibles" does not, and it's a pity.
Pixar’s superhero satire The Incredibles is a clever and entertaining film that pulls inspiration from such groundbreaking comics as The Watchmen, Fantastic Four, and Superman. After being forced into a witness protection program for superheroes Mr. Incredible struggles to resist his urge to fight crime, but he gets the chance to be useful once again when he’s approached by a mysterious corporation seeking help testing defense technology. The animation is fairly well-done, and is especially vivid and colorful. Additionally, the casting is quite good; featuring Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jason Lee. However, the plot has some issues and lacks a consistent tone. The Incredibles is fun and exciting, but it lacks that extra something that Pixar films usually have.
I'm 35 years old and I still really enjoy this movie. I like almost every CGI family animated movies.
Incredible it wasn't. A copy of the superhero movies.
I don't like this as much as most do, but 'The Incredibles' is definitely a fun watch.
I enjoy how the film starts out, as it introduces the characters and tells some backstories. However, once the film becomes more serious it kinda loses its edge for me. When it's less so though, it's good. The animation is very nice, even if the humans look a tad iffy especially with their expressions.
Another part I don't love is the villain, Syndrome. I feel like he's a bit tame, I never once felt fear/angst from the guy at all. A much more devilish, deceptive bad guy would've been far better. I didn't even realise it's Jason Lee who voices him either, it oddly doesn't sound like Lee to me.
Talking of mishearing the voice cast, am I the only one who thought it was Jodie Foster voicing Elastigirl? Violet kinda sounds like Aubrey Plaza too. I think I may need my ears tested... Elsewhere, it's cool to hear (correctly, this time) Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone.
Don't get me wrong, this is certainly a film worth watching 100%. I just would've loved a greater threat to the protagonists. Lastly, the end scenes, though amusing, feel like a collective of end credit jokes rolled into one. That's a minor complaint, mind.
Really great family dynamics and good kids movie
I want to watch the incredibles. How do we do it?
this movie is a THX Laser dise or the original THX!#SHOW OFF AND BORING. #ShiftvW8
This movie is... THX with Disney and Pixar movie in my life!!! #ShiftvW8
Hell yeah after years of groaning, scoffing (looking at you, undeserved Cars sequel), and on the verge of giving up at Pixar for leaving us desperately longing for a continuty, this finally got the sequel it frikkin deserves! Kudos, Pixar. Kudos.

After the fantastic outing that was The Iron Giant, Brad Bird delivers The Incredibles. Darker at times than most Disney/Pixar fare The Incredibles, along with Ratatouille, are my favourite Pixar films.
The voice cast is pitch perfect and evokes a real family dynamic that is the soul of this film. Between the animation artists and Holly Hunter they bring to life a living, breathing Mother with a love for her family that is palpable on screen. A true achievement.
The script is one of the tightest of all the Pixar films, the photography is stunning. The water/fluid effects blew away anything that had come before it and are still a benchmark of rendering.
The scene where Frozone is asking his wife where his super suit is is truly hilarious and I still quote it now.
Incredible.
