Like going to the toilet, you know exactly what's going to happen and the end result stinks. (And if I've made that crack before, it'll just mean it's as hackneyed as The Hustle.)
:poop:
There are two sorts of jokes in The Hustle, the original jokes which are terribly unfunny, and the cliché, recycled jokes which weren't even funny when they were original.
:sob:
This is the worst slapstick I've seen since the offal Dinner for Schmucks (though at least, unlike Dinner..., The Hustle didn't have to butcher an amazing French comedy in the process). I'm probably not the first critic to say this but I'm certainly the worst, the real swindle in The Hustle is getting people to pay to see it!
Better than the original if you ask me.
Not least because of the extraordinary Anne Hathaway.
Minus a few details it is the same as the original - The cons are different (well, you can't play men the same way you play women - and yes, i think conning men is way easier than conning women) but the overall story is the same, including the end.
Everyone wanting something unexpected should watch one of the 20+ other con movies made in the last decade. It is not as if there weren't enough out there^^
A funny little movie with two great comedians.
"The Hustle", or "Anne Hathaway & Her Expansive Library of Accents, Each One More Awful Than The Last"
Far better then expected, given the reviews.
A surprisingly enjoyable little movie.
I love the fact that women are getting films made around them, so why can't they get original scripts and not remakes
If they did this movie with just Anne Hathaway it would be a perfect campy movie about a strong smart bitch who is fabulous, but they didn’t. Rebel Wilson adds nothing but toilet jokes and the finale is terrible.
Anne Hathaway really manages to shine in almost any scenario. Without her performance I'd rate this 3/10.
I like Anne, but she's plain BAD at doing accents.
Enjoyed the movie, it had its moments. I'm kinda getting tired of Rebel's fat jokes, though. Like, it was funny in Pitch Perfect, but it's way too overdone by now. Time to find a new gimmick.
Have an afternoon off and nothing better to do? This movie is a good way to pass some time.
The Hustle is a modern take on Frank Oz's 1988 comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, but unfortunately, it falls short in delivering the laughs. Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson play a pair of con artists who are looking to exploit men's weaknesses and make a fortune. However, the film's debutant director Chris Addison fails to bring any comedic moments and the humor is consistently weak. The characters are not likable and the plot is poorly written and the dialogue is cringe-worthy. Despite the film's short runtime, it feels tedious and the attempts to make the audience care about the characters fall flat. The only redeeming quality of the film is its picturesque setting on the French Riviera. Overall, The Hustle is a clichéd, bland, and unenjoyable film that fails to live up to its original and wastes the talents of its lead actors.
I mean after building up a story you finish it in this fashion . Totally gross. I liked Anna Hathway in this movie though.
Go ahead and take a potty break, you saw all the good parts in the trailer anyways ppphhhffrrrrttt
It is impossible to take the movie seriously. It is unfortunate in the development, totally flat and a boring comedy
1:28:00 "How could you give them 200.000 pounds?" ... "it's just like 500 american dollars" - this is obviously after the brexit ;)
Gave it a try but after 20 minutes or so really had to give up. Bad remake. I doubt anyone who has seen the original will think this one is any good or funny at all.
Wilson is ok in a supporting role but can't carry a movie. A pity as Hathaway was good as always but not good enough to compensate for Wilson...
:heart::heart::heart: - The original was way better but even this one is good

1:face_with_symbols_over_mouth: - Bull Shit
This movie hasn't even managed to make me smile in 90 minutes and this was the only thing that I was expecting when I decided to watch it.
This movie was actually pretty funny. I did not expect a lot of it due to the rotten reviews. But for a fun movie night, this was perfect.
Unofficial Spin-Offs to Ocean's 8
I don’t mind too much that they remade Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with women. Since Hollywood isn’t original. I saw the 1988 movie at the theater. It was never really something that stuck with me.
I was only 9 at the time. Some 80 movies felt overlong and outdated. Even when they were new at the time. To me that was one of them.
Like Ghostbusters though, just adding women doesn’t make something fresher or more necessary. The Hustle is better than it has a right to be though. Since some jokes drag on too long. The cast keeps you watching.
Not bad for a remake. Although Steve Martin and Michael Caine are completely different class. Hathaway and Wilson still have a lot to catch up on.
A funny comedy with two comedy greats
The only redeeming bit in this movie is getting to see Anne Hathaway in that skin-tight silver and black dress for all of 30 seconds.
Rebel Wilson is a one-dimensional actress that has no real skill. As per usual she plays exactly like a character from Little Britain (the school slag), but Matt Lucas does it so much better.
0/10
It's kinda funny but if you already seen the 1988 original, you know how everything is going to end and you get all the movie spoiled.
In the pantheon of bad ideas remaking Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (which itself was a remake) ranks high, yet Rebel Wilson and Ann Hathaway attempt it in The Hustle. When a small time con woman gets taken by a pro she makes a deal to team up and learn her tricks, but they soon end up in a contest to see who’s the better con artist. Half of the problem is Hathaway, who doesn’t have any charm or likability. The other half is that the jokes just aren’t that funny; relaying on a lot of sexual and gross out humor (which is Wilson’s shtick). Still, the sight gags and pratfalls work pretty well and deliver some good laughs. Coming off as a bad imitation, The Hustle isn’t fooling anyone.
Pointless remake of the much better original. Don't spend money on this poor effort - you will feel ripped off!
WHY?? The original is a masterpiece, this is funny at times but has nothing of the magic of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. 1 star for being so stupid as to try a remake. Hathaway is badly cast Wilson is good. This movie should never have been made. I chuckled a few times but the original has me crying with laughter.
This was fun comedy, bit unexpected
At first it was enjoyable, but then Anne's character become intolerably annoying. Unlike most of the reviews' opinions, I think Rebel was the one who made the film relatively good. However, the last ten minutes really ruined the whole film and how I view it.
I’m in Thailand right now, it’s rainy season and a monsoon is raging outside. Literally any comedy would have done the trick of entertaining me while I sit the storm out. That being said, I had to turn this off after 20 minutes. Rebel Wilson is absolutely intolerable. Everyone involved in this so called movie should be in jail. 1/10
Felt a bit draggy and lots of the jokes aren't really jokes or just plain aren't funny. Overall an ok remake.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. How can you remake a CLASSIC with this dumbed down drek. Sheesh, shame, have you no fresh ideas??
Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson both proved themselves respectful and charming comediennes but sadly the film's bland storytelling did not do their work justice...
Good for a few laughs but it's not a good movie.
