Even a fantastic cast, capable director, beautiful cinematography and immersive sound design can't polish this turd of a script into a good movie. An utter failure.
The Homesman
This film tackles social issues of women and mental illness in a confronting way, unlike any Western I've seen.
Some amazing shots to be seen.
However, the pacing was a slog, the plot was rarley engaging and the shift of focus was a mistake.

I’d marry Mary Bee Cuddy in a heartbeat.
Slow, gritty, and totally unglamorous westerns are my favorite type of Western.
Great performances all round.

I was truly transported by this film. Despite the long succession of depressing events it somehow managed to be uplifting.
