This movie was so unsatisfying.
Great new way to make a werewolf movie it was like the thing meets werewolf type of story
After a strong opening, this horror movie fails to raise suspense levels. It's stylishly put together but it could have been so much better.
It was an interesting new take on a werewolf movie.
Another fairly successful variation on the usefulness of silver, especially from the beginning of our era. ;)
5/10
Eight For Silver
Tries really hard to be the next
WereWolf with a twist,
Movie, the twist being
Let's put some
"Thing" creature effects in their as well.
But it's all just slow
Bland and rather dull,
With a story you are left with at the end thinking
Oh right then, and by the next
morning you've forgotten all about it.
It over stayed it's welcome by about 23 minutes,
I had to fight nodding off due to it's
Terrible pacing.
Annoying characters,
Especially the daughter who just
keeps stump
90 percent of the movie and
With what she knew really could have
helped earlier on.
That stunt the stupid mother pulled
was ridiculous.And that ending
Yeah Whatever.
Always through the movie
Stand look scream
get got
(Copy,paste repeat).
Don't be alone
a minute later
"Alone".
"Dog Soldiers"
Is still the best
WereWolf movie
Ever Made and an
Outstanding
British Movie .
This could have been a solid movie,
a Great Movie but it all just
Run flat and limped across the finish line.
You just didn't see enough
Of the problem,
Which is a damn shame
Because what little you do
Looks frickin awesome
Some "THING" really
Nice visually,
It needed way more
Creature features
And definitely needed
"MORE BANG FOR
MY BUCK"
This was a rather bland film in my opinion. Sure it tried to put some new spins on the werewolf genre but the over arching story has been done so many times over again and in much better fashion that this was a bore to sit through.
The movie has got flaws. Firstly, the pacing could have been smoother, and the visual effects looked unfinished. There were a few cheap jump scares, and the title ‘The Cursed’ is generic, as I prefer the original title, which was ‘Eight for Sliver’.
So, after getting all of that out there, I think this was close to being a great horror movie, and I’m dead serious. The cinematography is fantastic, and the tone and atmosphere are eerie. The film is brutal and bloody, and I liked the approach to the werewolf formula that we are all familiar with but spun on its head.
I think with better execution, it would’ve turned out well. As for what it is, it’s not bad, but a sluggish movie with brilliant elements.
honestly boyd holbrook is doing the most to make up for all the british actors with good american accents. also, the movie is great and delightfully gory. like any period piece it feels a bit slow at times but it's got a solid story from start to finish and the werewolf idea is fun.
A unique werewolf folk horror. I absolutely loved the design of the creature and it does look quite scary. Kept me on the edge of my seat whenever it was on screen. Very nice cinematography!

A pretty fresh take on the traditional werewolf horror subgenre. I absolutely loved it. This period gothic/folk horror is enthralling, bloody, and grotesque. It gets off to a good start by launching into full terror mode right off the bat, with a story that hooked me from beginning to end. There's a good amount of violence and gore and some decent monster action, and the look of the actual monster is also very unique. The visual flair is very strong in this one. It is dark and gloomy, boasting a great atmosphere and some sinister imagery that keeps dread simmering on the stove, with a few well-executed jump scares that are genuinely surprising. The visual effects and body horror makeup are simply amazing. Excellent stuff and a nice twist on tiring subgenre is always appreciated. They should’ve kept Eight for Silver as the title for wide release.
