I have no idea why I haven't watched it before, it's so great!
A fantastic film. Highly recommended.
It's underrated, and wonderful, and fantastic, and my favourite movie.
Why did I wait this long to watch this movie... man that was good!
i liked the parts where he was old. his mum loved him so much omg it made me think of me and my cat
Para mi es una de las mejores de David Fincher.
its one of the perfect movies ,a must watch.
For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.
There really is nothing wrong with this film. Even with a runtime of about 160 minutes, time just flies by, much like it does for Benjamin, only we are going forward. This is a tender and meaningful film you do not want to wish.
I put off watching this movie for years. After finally watching it... thought it's way overrated.
I remember this movie infuriated me, but I can’t remember all the reasons why and I’m not going to watch it again to remember. I do remember that it’s basically Forrest Gump but with some weird racial stuff happening and also randomly in the middle of Hurricane Katrina.
A wonderfully intriguing and touching film, with splendid direction, incredible performances and a unique, perfectly-paced story, that keeps you engaged.
i have been delaying this movie for 13 years now mostly cause in my mind i always mix Cate Blanchett with Tilda Swinton and I'm not fond with either of them and i won't be able to stand them for 3 hours, but today i finally watched it on for Brad Pitt & Fincher sake...
i have to admit it's a great movie that i should have watched longtime ago..a lot to take from it.
yes you expect how it's going to end from the beginning but neither the less you enjoy the ride.
"An epic fantasy tale with rich storytelling backed by fantastic performances."
the scores don't deserve this Fantastic movie the reviews must be very very very higher that this Reviews
TIL: It's much easier for special fx/makeup artists to make B.P. looks older than in reverse. Kinda sucks, right, Brad?
image 4,5 / and sound 4,5 / 5: I had always ignored it because the subject did not interest me, but it is very well what counts and as it tells, Fincher is much Fincher
A must watch movie...just great :)
Must be Brad Pitts best movie
What an underrated film & story by F. Scott Fitzgerald! (it's public domain now, so go have a read! though it is quite different from the movie.) FYSA: spoilers ahead!
The execution of the cinematography and computer modifications were so impressive for it's time! And honestly... all the hoops jumped through for this movie to become a reality... wow! Glad it exists! The early part of this movie felt quite slow at times, but the end felt rushed! Blink, and Benjamin has grown "young"/old & the romance gone. Thankfully, there was nothing romantic through "inappropriate" timeline passes for the two characters.
There is a charm to the young/"old" Benjamin with his childlike wonder and yet haunting maturity. And towards the end, there's a grief in the dementia-ridden adolescent he became. For Daisy, she had some growin' up to do to match his life experiences when they reunite as adults. She was youthful and almost flighty, while he had just returned from war and experienced the loss of his own first love. Honestly, I found their near-misses at romance early on to be tragic. When she was young and eager to experience a sort of infatuation with him, he rejected her, and while she was settling into adulthood, she sped on with her life and love without him.
"Meeting in the middle". We were robbed to only get flashes of scenes of their lives together here, just as Caroline was robbed from the truth until the very end!
Great idea and good execution, though sometimes the plot goes too quick, and at other times it's slower than a snail.
A well crafted story that has some strong moments and emotive scenes, but also a predictably linear and honestly quite tedious Hollywood saga. Very much a late movie of its era and very much overuse of some sepia and HDR gradients.
The first time I saw this movie was almost a decade ago, when I was around 10. Rewatching it now had me in tears, no movie has ever done that before.
A coming of age story that uses the idea of someone being born old and dying young to show how important life can be. The execution and way the story is told is also great, and I think people will find this quite enjoyable and captivating.
1 of my favs
All time BEST, favorite drama!
its a beautiful film I love the screenplay so much good quotes that you actually feel like you can connected so much with the movie everything is good the characters, the screenplay, the cloakroom simply a great film don't let the time intimide you its worth it
A poor man's Forrest Gump with an inexplicable gimmick tossed in. This really didn't need to be half as long as it was, and all the major scenes seemed like window dressing while the dull in-between moments stretched out for as long as possible. It had a few charming scenes and some legitimately funny bits (especially the old man recounting his experiences with lightning) but give any film nearly three hours and a huge budget; the law of averages says it's bound to stumble across a few of those by sheer chance.
A lot of the character moments were forced and stiff, and there was almost zero chemistry between Blanchett and Pitt to back up their supposed lifelong passion for one another. Wrapping the whole story up into Hurricane Katrina just felt cheap and needless. A real disappointment.
Though this is not my kind of movie I still somewhat enjoyed it.
An interesting concept but this is way too long and slow for me. The aging effects were really well done.
Does not make much sense to me because I found the way they had shown what they want to show was stupid.
This movie tells a lot things but showing someone aging in reverse,I did not like that much.

Superb! I'd never seen a story about a person who born physically old and die like a baby. In addition, this is a great love story.
